Eric said he could use a stiff martini as he came home with Ridge and Steffy. Ridge told him to keep a clear head. He wanted Eric to take it easy and not let the stress get to him. Steffy was glad that Ridge was going to stay with Eric to keep an eye on him. Taylor came in and offered not to interrupt but also wanted to be supportive. Ridge gratefully told her she wasn’t interrupting; she was family.
Eric said he would spend every penny he had and take every legal avenue he could to right the ship. Taylor offered to try to reason with Carter, but they told her Carter was in too deep with Hope. Ridge noted that Carter and Hope were destined to fail and that no one at the company could help them run it successfully.
Steffy reiterated the situation to Taylor, noting that Hope’s line was failing, so she turned to Carter. Steffy said that Hope used people to get what she wanted, just like Brooke. Eric said he knew Steffy and Hope had butted heads for a very long time. “But do you really think that she forced him to sign the papers?” Eric asked. Steffy said Hope would have been much more subtle to get what she wanted. Ridge also said that was how Brooke was and lamented that Brooke wouldn’t choose to live with him over Hope.
Eric said that Ridge could stay in the family home as long as he wanted but thought that he and Brooke had weathered plenty of storms. “Not like this,” Steffy noted. She pointed out that Brooke sided with the enemy. Taylor tried to diffuse the conversation. Ridge told Taylor that although she might feel like enemy was a big word, they were feeling pretty raw about what happened. “Until we deal with this injustice, I don’t blame Dad. I would stay so far away from Hope and Brooke,” Steffy said.

Eric asked Ridge where things stood between him and Brooke since she sided with Hope. Ridge said he was only focused on getting Eric’s stolen company back. Steffy got a Forrester digital alert that they were about to make a live announcement. Ridge said Carter and Hope could spin it any way they wanted, but their little world was going to fall apart.
In the CEO’s office, Carter told Brooke she was the only one who could calm clients, buyers, and employees at such a critical time. Carter and Brooke felt that, with her experience as a previous CEO, she was the obvious choice. Carter said that Eric, Steffy, and Ridge chose to walk away, but when they saw how successful the company was, they would come back. He added that no one wanted to see Forrester go under, and with her at the helm, it wouldn’t.
Carter acknowledged that Brooke would be put on a collision course with Ridge and said he hated that but thought Ridge’s love for her would overcome the situation. “Destiny, right?” Carter smiled. So what do you say, Brooke? Will you do it? Will you become Forrester’s new CEO?”
Brooke said Ridge would go ballistic if she accepted. Carter knew but said he couldn’t bother worrying about that. Carter listed all the reasons Brooke could do the job. He called her a unifier, not a divider. Hope knew it was an overwhelming proposition, and Carter reluctantly offered her more time. Brooke said she didn’t need it and accepted the offer.
Hope noted that it might be an uncomfortable position for her to be in, so Brooke reminded her that the Forresters had been pushed out of their own company. Carter said they needed someone fully committed, and if it wasn’t her, they’d find someone else. Brooke said she was just surprised and hadn’t expected to be asked. Zende came in and said Matt Simmons from Spencer was downstairs with a camera crew. Hope noted that Matt always twisted words to make it more salacious. “They want a statement,” Carter added, looking at Brooke. Carter told Zende to have Charlie send them away and asked Zende to set it up so they could make their own announcement through their social media channels. Carter asked Brooke to make the announcement and be the voice of the company.
Zende wondered why Brooke would make the statement. Carter told Brooke she was a pro at it. “I’ll do it,” Brooke decided. “Really??” Zende asked. “You heard the lady. It’s time the world learns there’s a new leader at Forrester Creations,” Carter beamed. Zende looked confused.
Zende set it up in the CEO's office and told Brooke they were ready when she was. Brooke went before the camera and launched right into it. She improvised that she was there to assure everyone that everything they knew and loved about Forrester would remain the same. “There have been some changes, however, in management. COO Carter Walton will be managing the new LLC, which controls the company. And from this day forward, I will step into my old position as CEO of Forrester Creations,” Brooke announced.
“What?!” Eric growled as they watched from his living room on Steffy’s phone. Steffy’s jaw dropped, and Ridge’s mind was blown. Brooke added that she would reinstate HFTF and Hope. “I would also like to add that Eric, Steffy, and Ridge will be taking a leave of absence. I don’t want you to worry about a thing. All will be fine. The company will be in good hands. My hands,” Brooke said into the camera as Ridge fumed.
Ridge asked how Brooke could do that to him. Steffy couldn’t believe that Brooke could sink so low. Eric thought Carter was just using Brooke to make it look like everything was fine. Steffy wanted to do their own press conference to combat the lies, but Eric thought they needed to be careful, and they were walking a fine line with the scandal. “Dad, she stabbed us in the back!” Ridge said.
Steffy called Brooke a Logan through and through, who had shown her true colors. Eric had a meeting downtown, and Steffy had to pick up the kids. Steffy asked Taylor to stay with Ridge. Once alone, Taylor asked Ridge if he was okay. He said that Carter and Hope’s betrayal was awful, but Brooke's actions were so much worse.
Back in the CEO’s office, Carter told Brooke she did a great job and that her positive leadership role would be a great sign. Carter got a message that more reporters were in the lobby. He told Brooke to get used to her new digs and that he and Hope would go down and handle it.
After Carter and Hope left all giddy, Zende repeated to Brooke, “Your new digs? This is Ridge and Steffy’s office. This my granddad’s office!” Brooke asked him to let her explain. Zende didn’t know what there was to explain. “Instead of you fighting to help take back what is rightfully my family’s company, you’re all in on this takeover!” Zende exclaimed. Brooke said Carter kind of twisted her arm to take the position. “Stop it, stop it!! How can you do this to people who you claim to care about, especially Ridge? What Carter and Hope did was completely unethical! For you not to realize that–” Zende berated. Brooke interrupted and said she did realize that and agreed with everything he was saying. “I feel everything you do, and it kills me to see Ridge hurt like this,” Brooke shared.
“I know it seems like I’m enabling what is happening by going along with the CEO position, but that’s not what I’m doing. I have a plan. A way to give Forrester Creations back to Ridge!” Brooke exclaimed excitedly to Zende.
Back at the Forrester mansion, Ridge asked how Brooke could do that to him, taking his job and his office and going along with Carter and Hope taking his company. Taylor pointed out that this is what Brooke always did: screw him over and hurt him. “Do you really want to live the rest of your life like that?” she asked. Taylor told Ridge that he deserved so much more and that other people loved him and wanted better for him.
Ridge said that every time Brooke hurt him, he’d think it was over, then find a way to justify things and repeat the cycle. “At some point, I gotta say this is not on Brooke. This is on me. I’m doing this to myself,” Ridge said. He told Taylor that maybe she was right all along.
