Carter picked Hope up outside of Forrester Creations and took her to Brooke's house. As they walked in, Carter assured Hope that Steffy had just lost her temper, but it would be okay. Hope was distressed and thanked Carter for coming as soon as he could. Brooke came home and asked what was wrong. Hope told her mom that she had been fired.

Brooke wondered if Steffy could fire Hope. Carter wasn't sure, as he didn't know what had happened yet. Hope told Carter and Brooke that Steffy thought she was hitting on Finn. Hope said that Steffy misinterpreted the situation. She asked if Carter and Brooke believed her, and they said they did. Hope cried that Steffy wouldn't listen to her while Carter hugged her.

Hope explained to Carter and Brooke what happened with Finn and how Steffy walked in at the most inopportune moment. She told them she was flustered when she realized it was Finn and not Carter who was in the office, tripped, and fell on him. Hope concluded that Steffy walked in, blew up, and she was fired. "But you were wearing lingerie," Brooke pointed out. Hope knew how bad it looked but said she wasn't crossing the line with Finn that Steffy had warned her about. Hope said that Steffy would believe what she wanted to believe no matter what the truth was.

Carter asked if Hope had told Steffy what was really going on, but Hope did not. She reminded Carter that they wanted to keep their relationship a secret, so she didn't want to throw him under the bus and jeopardize his position at Forrester. Hope explained to Brooke that Steffy had been giving Carter grief for supporting HFTF, and she could only imagine how bad it would be if she found out that they were linked romantically. "The Forresters cannot find out what you mean to me, Carter. Especially now," Hope cried. Carter said that he understood, but Steffy needed to know the truth. Hope told them that Steffy trusted Carter until he started defending Hope.

Brooke was shocked when Hope revealed that Ridge witnessed her firing and had ordered her to leave. Hope added that Ridge and Steffy escorted her to the elevator in front of other employees and Taylor. Hope thought it felt like Steffy was trying to shame her. Brooke couldn't believe that Taylor was present for it.

Hope told Carter and Brooke that all their years of working at Forrester meant nothing. "The only thing I'll be able to remember is the cold look on their faces when they asked me to go," Hope said. Carter added he had warned Ridge that Steffy was losing perspective and that she had gone too far. "Ridge, Steffy. They're not getting away with this. I won't let them," Carter told Hope and Brooke.

In the CEO's office, Steffy told Ridge and Taylor that Hope left them no choice. "You wanted her out of the building. She's out," Ridge said. Steffy thanked Ridge for backing her up. Steffy noted Hope's excuses in front of the employees and how she made herself sound like a victim.

Steffy reiterated the warnings she had given Hope and said that Hope understood the consequences of her actions. "She seemed shocked to me," Ridge noted. Steffy explained that was because no one had ever held Hope accountable for her actions. "If she can't be trusted, she can't be here," Steffy added.

Taylor agreed that it was time for Hope to stop playing games and that Steffy had reached her limit. "I didn't want it to come to this, but Hope crossed a line," Steffy said. Charlie entered the office and sadly noted that he stripped Hope of her security passes and removed her pictures from the walls. Ridge asked him to try to keep things on the down low but knew it was probably not possible.

After Charlie left, Steffy told Ridge that she would not change her mind about firing Hope. Ridge said that he understood her business decision and supported her, but it could look personal, and he wanted to avoid the implications.

Ridge instructed that they needed to notify Katie and Carter of the dismissal. He wanted to tell Brooke in person. Ridge said everyone needed to know that Hope was fired and that he supported it. Steffy noted that it was nice not to be contradicted or overruled. She reminded her dad that he heard Hope's excuses and that he needed to stay strong when Brooke defended her daughter. Do not let the Logans manipulate you," Steffy said to her dad.
