At the Spencer mansion, Luna said she knew she was responsible for her own actions and wasn’t blaming her parents or the lack of good ones. But sometimes, she did wonder if she had a father, how much it would have changed her life. “I wish I had known. I didn’t know,” Finn lamented.
Luna told Finn that he couldn’t have stepped in to fill the shoes of her missing father. Luna explained how she wouldn’t up on mansion arrest at Bill’s. Finn wasn’t impressed that Bill called in some favors. Luna said that Bill was amazing and understood her like no one else. She wished Bill could be her father, but he wasn’t. But noted that his timing was good as she had been processing how Tom Starr could be her dad, and although she couldn’t see how he could be related to her, she had no choice but to accept it. Luna was stunned when Finn told her that Tom Starr wasn’t her dad.
Luna agreed that she had her doubts, too. She wondered what that would have been like growing up with Tom and Poppy raising her and thought she could have actually turned out even worse. Luna noted that she felt it in her bones that Tom wasn’t her father, so Finn told her that he instincts were right. “Maybe you understand where I’m coming from because you always wondered about your birth parents,” Luna suggested. She lamented how not having a father was always a missing piece for her and knew that life would have been better with a stable, loving role model like Finn.
Luna didn’t want sympathy but cried how ashamed she was of who she had become. She told Finn how she would dissociate to cope with life and her mom, and she would fantasize about having a dad who would come to take her away from it all. “I didn’t know, I swear,” Finn said, ‘Your entire life, you have longed to look into your father’s eyes and to see the man who helped bring you into this world. A man who could call you his daughter. Look, that day has finally come. The day that you have waited an entire lifetime for, Luna. It’s me. I’m your father.”
At the cliff house, Taylor told Steffy to let it all out. Steffy admitted she thought she could handle it, but it was all starting to hit her, and she didn’t know how to deal with having Luna as a stepdaughter. Taylor said it was too much to bear and was worried that Finn was once again endangering Steffy by being related to a sociopathic killer.
Steffy defended Finn, as he was unaware of his family tree and didn’t choose who was in it. Taylor understood that, but as Steffy’s mom, she felt the need to protect her. Taylor said Finn should have told Steffy about the night he spent with Poppy long ago.
Steffy assured Taylor that Finn felt terrible for putting her in this position. Taylor noted that Finn couldn’t help who he was related to, but Sheila’s psycho blood ran through his veins, and Hayes might have it. Steffy didn’t think that thought was helping anything, but Taylor thought she should be prepared just in case. She warned Steffy to put her children before anyone else. “You know what to do,” Taylor said.
Taylor told Steffy that her and the children’s lives may be at risk. Steffy reminded her that Finn and Luna weren’t in contact, Luna had no idea that he was her father, and she was behind bars. “Luna’s not the only problem!” Taylor said adamantly. She thought that once Sheila found out she had a granddaughter, she’d try to break Luna out of prison herself. “Oh god,” Steffy gasped, horrified. Taylor asked Steffy to take the kids and come live with her and Ridge at the Forrester mansion for a while.
Hope watched through the CEO’s office door as Carter and Daphne unlocked their lips and stared at one another. Daphne took a step back and wondered if she had gone too far. She knew Carter and Hope were together but admitted she had wanted to kiss him since they met.
Daphne talked about how he took Forrester out of love for Hope and her family and said it was a romantic gesture, but overall, he knew it was wrong. Carter said doing it for Hope was part of it, but he added that he has struggled in the past with doing what was right. Daphne suggested that he was struggling with their kiss. She told Carter maybe she had overstayed her welcome and should return to Paris.
Carter agreed it might be best for her to go back to Paris, but she hesitated leaving the office. “Au revoir, Carter Walton,” Daphne purred before returning to the design office. Carter picked up the ribbon Daphne left on the table and smelled it as he remembered their kiss. He was deep in a steamy flashback when Hope marched in and snapped him out of it. “How did your talk with Daphne go?” she asked.
