The tense stand-off between the Forresters and the trio of alleged betrayers continued in the executive office at Forrester Creations. Fortune was not on Hope's side. Brooke tried to argue with Steffy that Hope's line, Hope For The Future, shouldn't be discontinued.
Hope said she and Carter were leaving, but both Eric and Ridge urged Carter not to throw away the second chance that they'd given him.
Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) felt helpless as she watched her daughter's heart break on many levels; Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) remained firm on her decision to dump Hope and her line. "We all have to live with our decisions," Steffy said simply.
Hope begged Carter not to let the Forresters tear them apart. Carter turned to look at Eric, Ridge, and Steffy, then turned back to Hope. "I'm sorry," he told Hope. "This is my livelihood. They're my family." Hope gave a slight shake of her head in disbelief. She couldn't believe that this was happening as she and Carter had worked so hard to make Forrester Creations a successful company. How was he not standing by her side when she needed him the most?
Hope was stunned that Carter decided to stay at Forrester. "This is just business," he tried to explain to her. Carter lowered his voice a bit and noted to Hope that Steffy was angry right now and that this could be an opportunity. "How in the world is this beneficial to me?" Hope wondered. Brooke tried to smooth things over, too, but that didn't give her daughter any comfort. "You, too?" an incredulous Hope responded to her mother.
Hope said there was nothing left to say but "goodbye" after Carter announced that he was going to stay on at Forrester Creations. He said he needed to make this right as he wrongfully stole the company from the Forresters.
After Hope left, Brooke let Eric, Steffy, and Ridge know how she felt about them dismissing Hope and canceling her line. Realizing she wasn't getting anywhere, she softened her voice and asked to speak to Ridge alone. Eric and Steffy left, giving the "destiny duo" time alone.
Brooke said she wants to be a part of Forrester's future but added that she was upset about Ridge turning to Taylor so quickly after their relationship went on the skids.
Ridge told Brooke that he could not forget about the takeover and the role he believed Brooke played in it. Brooke said, likewise, she can't deal with Ridge having turned to Taylor. However, she told him, "I miss you." Brooke reminded Ridge that she had become CEO of the company to help get Forrester Creations back to Ridge. Brooke noted that in return, Ridge said horrible things about her daughter. Despite this, Brooke said she wanted to move ahead. "I want us to move forward with our lives, and I think that you want that too," Brooke said as she cozied up to Ridge. Then, she kissed him, hoping to seal the deal. Ridge, however, did not respond in kind. "I want you to come home," Brooke said. "I want to be your Logan again."
Carter followed Hope home to her cabin. Hope felt betrayed. "I already said my goodbye," she told the company COO. Hope added there was no reason for him to be there. Carter fully understood how Hope was feeling, but he didn't want to lose her and didn't want this to tear them apart. Carter reminded Hope of the commitment that they made to one another. He reminded her that their relationship started before the company takeover.
Hope was upset that Carter and Brooke didn't fight for her. Carter said he was there for her, but Hope didn't see it that way. "I can't believe I got it so wrong," she said.
Carter kept pushing, but all Hope saw in front of her was a disappointment. She wanted to know what happened to the promises Carter had made. A hurt Hope lashed out at Carter, saying that this was the lowest she had felt in many years.
"Go have fun with your 'brother' Ridge and your 'chosen' family, and leave me alone,'" Hope angrily told Carter. He said he knew she was hurting, which is why she said what she said, but he wasn't going to let her push him away. "I won't let that be the end of us," Carter said. "I won't."
Will and Electra weren't in the executive office, but they were certainly up to date on what was going on in terms of the reorganization of the company.
Electra said she had nothing against Hope, Carter, and Zende, noting that they had all been nothing but good to her and her aunt Ivy — after all, Carter launched Ivy's jewelry line. Will wondered if that would matter as everyone moved forward. Electra said it would be cool if everyone could get along and work together after all that had happened. However, she didn't see it as possible.
Zende and Daphne discussed the impending fallout now that the Forresters were back in power. Zende picked up on the fact that Daphne had fallen for Carter. She admitted that she wanted to go back to Paris but couldn't because of her feelings for him.
Will, carrying some jewelry accessories, and Electra entered the room and joined the conversation. Will told Zende that this was a big day for him as his family was getting Forrester back in their control. Will wondered if Steffy and Hope could work together as a team.
Zende had no updates for Will and Electra about the future of Hope For The Future. Daphne wasn't surprised that Carter did the right thing and said that she hoped that Carter would walk away from Hope.
