At Il Giardino, Carter was eating pizza when Daphne arrived. She had gotten his text to meet with him. She said she didn’t usually frequent pizza parlors but would make an exception for him. Daphne shared that she had seen Ridge at the office and wondered if he had spoken to him. By Carter’s expression, she knew that he had and that it was eating away at him that he had taken the company away from his best friend.
Carter couldn’t deny that Daphne was right. She said he was successful but could tell he was asking himself, “At what cost?” Daphne said she knew powerful, successful men who traded their souls for fame and fortune. But she also knew men like Carter who were better than that. She put her hand on his arm and squeezed it as she told him he was better than that. Daphne said she could see that Carter felt like a traitor, but she saw a handsome, magnetic man with so much potential. Carter perked up, and she smiled at him.
Across the restaurant, Poppy sat at the bar. Sheila asked if she was drinking alone because of Luna. Sheila refilled Poppy’s glass of white wine and noted that she hadn’t seen her drink before. Poppy agreed she didn’t use to be a drinker. Sheila told Poppy that Tom and Hollis were like family there, and they were dead because of Poppy’s daughter. Sheila added that she would never forget how Luna came after her family as well.
Poppy lamented that Luna even framed her for the murders. Sheila told Poppy she understood the bond between a mother and child and that her only sin was loving Luna. Poppy cried as Sheila bonded with her as a mom and said there could be a chance for redemption. "Look at me now," Sheila noted. Sheila said she understood how much you can love a child from the moment when they first put them in your arms, and how it was unlike anything. Sheila added that she knew because she missed “her Finn.”

Sheila told Poppy that she may be Finn’s aunt, but Sheila shared a connection with him like no one else. When Sheila stated that Poppy would never know Finn as “intimately” as she did, Poppy’s eyes bulged, and she knocked over her glass of wine. Sheila cleaned up the mess and told Poppy she understood. She didn’t get to see Finn, which meant she didn’t get to see Hayes. “I really miss my grandchild,” Sheila added as Poppy sighed.
At Bill’s house, Remy surmised that Luna was the double-murdering Forrester intern but didn’t understand why she wasn’t in prison serving her life sentence. Remy confirmed her photo on the phone, and Luna proudly smiled, “In the flesh.”
Luna happily explained she was under house arrest, “Or, in this case, mansion arrest,” Luna added. Remy asked if she and Bill were a couple and didn’t understand how they were friends or why he would do Luna such a big favor. She explained that Bill knew her better than anyone in the world.
Luna told Remy how complicated but boring life was being cooped up in the house. She told Remy he was the first person she’d talked to in forever. He noted that telling all of her secrets to a total stranger might not be a good idea. Luna disagreed and said that if he repeated to anyone what she told him, she’d have to kill him. They both laughed.
At the cliff house, Steffy sat with Finn as he told her there was more to his story about his affair with Poppy. Steffy reiterated how Poppy took advantage of him, and that she could have really messed up his life. “Thank God there’s no lasting effects from your one night with Poppy,” Steffy added.
While listing off reasons Poppy was awful, Steffy recounted what Luna did to her and said that was the kind of person that Poppy raised. Steffy reiterated her support for Finn.
Steffy realized that Finn was very emotional as he asked her to let him tell her the rest. He said that not long after he was with her, Poppy told him she was pregnant. Finn explained that Poppy insisted he wasn’t the father. Steffy knew that must have been stressful and assumed Poppy didn’t keep the baby. When Finn said she did, Steffy thought Poppy gave the baby up for adoption. “But wait, I don’t understand. If the child wasn’t yours, then what does it have to do with us?” Steffy asked.
Finn looked at Steffy intently. “Poppy lied to you? The child was yours?” Steffy asked. Finn admitted that happened. “And she hid it from you? You and Poppy had a child?” Steffy confirmed. Finn assured Steffy that he just found out and he wouldn’t have kept it from her.
Steffy understood and reiterated how everything was Poppy’s fault and he was just a teenager. Steffy assumed an adopted child out there might want to know him, and they should track him down. Finn admitted he knew that “she” would want to know he was her father.
Finn explained that the reason Li had always been so hard on Poppy was because she sensed something was up for years. He said that Li didn’t know about his affair with Poppy but thought that Jack and Poppy did, so she ran a paternity test on Luna. Finn said the test came back negative, but she had also run a test on Tom Starr’s DNA, and he wasn’t the father, either.
Steffy asked who Luna’s father actually was. “Luna’s father is me,” Finn admitted. “Luna’s your daughter? No!! No!!” Steffy cried. She clutched her mouth and gasped, “Oh my god!”
