At home, Bill went through his mail and realized he had another letter from Luna. He read Luna’s words, claiming she regretted everything she did but was a product of her mother and all of her emotional neglect. She said she knew Bill could relate to what she was saying. Luna closed the letter by begging Bill to visit her in jail.
At the cabin, Carter and Hope commiserated about Steffy and how she shouldn’t have confronted Hope. Carter said Steffy had a valid reason to be upset but shouldn’t be turning Ridge against Hope to validate it. Carter laughed about Ridge and how he thought Hope was just using him and had gotten into his head. He called it more Forrester vs. Logan nonsense and noted that Ridge and Steffy just couldn’t let it go.
Hope was delighted that Carter had filed the LLC papers. “A brand new day is about to dawn at Forrester Creations,” he said. She happily prepped him for the biggest meeting of his career. “I’m doing this for you, Hope. For you, your mom,” Carter told her. He told her that he was going to put an end to their suffering.
After Carter left, Brooke came over. She told Hope that Ridge and Steffy were very angry but hoped it could all be worked out. Hope was confident it would be. “Do you know something I don’t?” Brooke asked. Hope said ominously that after today, things would never be the same.

Brooke said it was probably for the best that the coup didn’t work out. Hope told her she spoke too soon because Carter was just getting started. “He filed the papers,” Hope announced. She said that he was at Forrester telling Ridge, Steffy, and Eric. Brooke was stunned and said that the Forresters wouldn’t take it sitting down. “Well, they’re going to have to because Carter is in control now,” Hope said.
Luna said she was delighted when Poppy came to visit her in jail. However, Poppy told her that she raised her better than this, and what she did broke her heart. “I can’t accept what you did,” Poppy told her daughter.
Poppy reminded Luna how she murdered Tom — her father — and Hollis and then framed Poppy for it. She noted that she was related to Steffy and yet imprisoned her and intended to kill her and would have had her cousin Finn not shown up when he did. “And for what? Some strange obsession with Bill,” Poppy summarized. Luna perked up. “Have you seen him? Have you talked to Bill?” she asked.
Poppy wondered why Luna was asking about Bill and noted that she asked about him the last time she was there as well. Poppy told Luna it was sick that Luna was kissing the man she loved while she was behind bars for the crimes Luna committed. “I can’t believe this is our lives now,” Poppy said. Luna emotionlessly said her lawyer would file an appeal. Poppy said she didn’t recognize her anymore and thought their relationship was over.
Luna cried that she was still her daughter and needed her. Poppy admitted she felt such shame and wondered if she had created the monster Luna had become. She told Luna that she did the best she could as a parent and that Luna had other choices than to commit the crimes that she did. She said that Luna needed to accept her fate as she was never getting out of prison and that for the rest of her life she would be behind bars.
Luna was confused when the guard kept her in the visitor's room as her mom had left. She became immediately flustered and excited when Bill walked into the room.
Eric was beside himself at the CEO’s office, knowing what Carter did. Steffy explained that Carter betrayed them for Hope. She said that Justin was on his way over.
Eric noted that Forrester was a family business, and Carter had no right to try to unseat Ridge and Hope. Steffy said that Eric had always been kind to Carter and didn’t deserve what he had done. Justin arrived, and they anxiously waited for him to tell them that Carter would never get his hands on the company.
Justin told Eric, Ridge, and Steffy that Carter Walton appointed himself as the manager of the LLC. Eric said that didn’t mean anything. Carter interrupted and said there was no need to call security as it wouldn’t take long. Eric told Carter he was a traitor.
Eric told Carter it was a good thing he was there, as Justin was about to point out all the holes in his plan. Justin repeated that Carter appointed himself manager of the LLC, and the manager is the highest-ranking person in the company.
The Forresters were in disbelief. “Are you denying these are your signatures? You saw his name listed on the documents. You didn't question any further?” Justin asked. Ridge explained that they did, but they trusted Carter. “That was your biggest mistake,” Justin shrugged. He said there was nothing they could do even though they had signed under false pretenses. Justin agreed what Carter did wasn’t ethical but said it was technically legal. “It’s a clean transfer of power,” Justin added. He reiterated that they set up the LLC to have ownership of Forrester Creations and that Carter was the person in charge of the LLC, so he now calls the shots.
“How could you do this?” Steffy gasped. Eric told Carter it was a huge stab in the back. Steffy pointed out that she and Carter worked well together. Carter said it was for the good of the company and all of the Logans. He said that there would be no more favoritism at the company. Ridge wondered how he considered what he was doing, not playing favorites. He told them that Brooke had the top lingerie company in the world, yet she was overlooked and didn’t even have an office. “She doesn’t get respect, just like Hope,” Carter scolded.
He told Steffy that she was wrong to fire Hope. He said that Ridge wouldn’t listen, so he had to step up and take the company. “MY company,” Eric snapped. He told him he had betrayed him again after forgiving him for cheating with Quinn. Ridge noted that friends don’t betray one another.
Carter said he didn’t want to lose Ridge’s friendship. “You've lost it. It’s over, it’s done,” Ridge yelled. “Then I don’t want to lose my lead designer,” Carter said. Ridge laughed. Eric bellowed, “YOUR lead designer?” Carter said he knew it was shocking and there would be an adjustment period, but he believed they would get past this.
Carter said he knew he wasn’t family and shouldn’t be in his position at the company. Steffy told him Hope was using him. Eric ordered Justin out of the building. “I’m not leaving. I manage the LLC, so whether you like it or not, I’m in charge of Forrester Creations, and I’m not going anywhere. Is that understood?” Carter said in a glaring showdown.
