At Forrester Creations, Ridge insisted to Zende that his talent had nothing to do with cutting Hope For The Future. The company would have plenty of work for him and also find a place for Daphne's fragrance. Zende understood why Hope was gone and was thrilled the company was back in Forrester hands.
However, he did not dislike Hope the way others did. "She did have something to offer. Something that we profited from for years. Part of me...I happen to feel a little for her. Just a little," he said. All Ridge could respond with was, "You're starting to sound like Brooke."
Zende pointed out that Hope was the only person to pay for what had happened, so Ridge once again told him that Brooke said the same exact thing. Ridge and Daphne explained that Carter knew what he had done wrong, and Hope did not, so she had to pay the price.
Ridge was just happy that his BFF Carter was back. He was almost back to his old self again. Daphne then explained to Carter. "He was led astray by Hope. Thankfully, he was only lost for a brief moment. You have your friend back...and having gone through where he did, I doubt he'll go missing ever again," she said.
Brooke was relieved when Hope finally came home, but she was a bit concerned when Hope told her she had been with her father. Brooke informed Hope that she went to bat for her with Ridge, but to no avail. A bitter Hope knew that Brooke's efforts would be useless.
Brooke brought up the fact that Carter tried to also speak up for her, but Hope said she didn't need Carter because he didn't do enough when it mattered. "I loved him...and believed him when he made those promises about our future, but clearly, he didn't mean any of it," Hope said.
Brooke asked Hope to consider Carter's point of view. "If Carter had walked out at that moment with you, he would have destroyed everything that you worked so hard to build," Brooke said. Hope didn't care as much about that as she did about finding Carter and Daphne kissing. Like Thomas and Liam, Carter had promised to love her and only her.
Hope then began to wax nostalgic about her strange and brief romance with Carter. "We've been through a lot, but there were so many happy memories. I guess I thought we were on the same page...after everything that's happened, it has me questioning everything...if he ever really cared, if it ever meant to the same to him as it did to me...he threw it away, and for what? Ridge? Or Daphne?" Hope asked.
Brooke insisted that Carter had not given up on Hope, but Hope said he did the moment that he sided with the Forresters.
In the design office, Deacon laid into Carter for disrespecting his daughter. "That means you disrespected me, and you're not going to get away with it, Carter. You used her. You used my daughter, and if you don't regret it now, trust me, you will," Deacon warned.
Carter tried to keep his cool as Deacon accused him of stabbing Hope in the back. "You even cheated on her. What kind of man are you, Carter?" Deacon asked. Carter warned Deacon to be careful, but Deacon could only scoff at that remark. Carter claimed he never meant to hurt Hope, but Deacon didn't care about his intentions. He was angry at Carter's actions.
"How many times does my daughter have to have her heart broken? You were the one guy who she thought wasn't going to do it. And you did. You turned out to be just like all the rest," Deacon spat.
Carter finally lost his temper and shouted, "Enough! You're mad at me, Deacon? Or are you mad at yourself? Last time I checked, you're the first man in Hope's life to do all this. The first man to break her heart, the first man to abandon her."
Carter hit a nerve because Deacon lost it and unleashed his inner-Cobra Kai, dropkicking Carter before Carter could blink. He then punched him in the face, causing blood above Carter's arm. When Carter saw the blood, he raged and took a swing at Deacon.
As the two men showed their manly-man skills, Daphne barged in and broke the scene up. She threatened to call security on the violent man she had never met before. Carter introduced Deacon as Hope's father. "Oh, you're here to defend her honor? Well, she has none," Daphne declared.
Liam opened his eyes to find Steffy right by his side. Steffy was pleased when Liam was able to answer some basic cognitive questions, but he had no idea how he got there or what happened to his head. Grace explained to Liam that he had suffered a brain bleed.
Liam wondered if the hospital had called Steffy, but Grace told him Steffy was the one who found him and called 911. "If she hadn't...she saved you, Liam. Steffy saved you," she said.
Liam and Steffy both began to weep. "Guess I owe you one," Liam said. "I just need you to get better. Just the thought of losing you...Kelly and Beth...they need you." Liam was relieved that Kelly didn't see him lying on the ground. Liam asked where Steffy found him so she told him he was outside Bill's house. Steffy asked Liam what happened but he didn't see to remember.
Finn spoke to Kelly's friend's mom from his office, still wondering where Steffy and Liam were. He assured the mom that Steffy and Liam would probably pick Kelly up soon. Li soon arrived so Finn told her that Liam and Steffy seemed to be missing, but he was trying not to get too concerned. As time went on, Finn grew more worried. "Where is she? Why isn't she getting back to me?" he wondered.
