The Bold and the Beautiful Recap, April 10: Liam feared the worse wasn't over

Steffy remained by Liam's side as he told her he owed her his life. Steffy reminded Liam of when he saved her life when she nearly drowned in the bathtub all those years ago.

Finn finally arrived and was surprised by Liam's condition. Steffy explained that Liam had a brain bleed and had almost died. Finn did a quick exam on Liam but didn't see where the underlying issue was, so he planned to talk to Grace to find out. When Grace entered the room, she told Finn that the next 72 hours were critical, but if Liam remained stable, he would be okay.

Finn was surprised when Liam said he didn't want anyone to know what had happened, especially his daughters. Finn took Grace aside to discuss Liam's case. Grace wondered if this incident could have been a complication from Liam's many other head injuries through the years.

While Finn and Grace talked, Liam joked that he could probably use a football helmet. "I feel I should start wearing one 24/7 now," he quipped. Liam was determined to be healed in time for Kelly's daddy-daughter dance that was coming up. Steffy knew that Liam would be okay because he was a fighter. "I don't really have a choice. Beth and Kelly need me, and I need them," he said.

Liam asked Steffy to leave because he was getting tired. Grace echoed the sentiments, so Steffy finally decided to go home to her daughter. Once alone with Grace, Liam asked her to be straight with him about his condition. Grace admitted that she still needed to evaluate all his tests and scans before giving him a prognosis.

"You have a team of top neurologists doing everything possible to make sure you have the best possible outcome," Grace assured Liam. He expressed how grateful he was for all the people who were there for him. "I am sure that a lot of people in your life that would do the same if they knew."

Liam still wouldn't budge. "My family, my friends, it's my job to protect them from things like this," Liam insisted.

At home, Steffy told Finn about the argument that Liam had with Bill that led to his fall. Kelly then walked in, so Steffy put a stop to the conversation. Kelly asked if Daddy was there. Steffy told Kelly that something had come up and Liam wouldn't be there. Kelly was disappointed, but Steffy offered her comfort.

At Il Giardano, Hope arrived after Deacon asked to see her. He informed his daughter that he went a little nuts at Forrester Creations when he confronted Carter, and things got ugly. "Carter had it coming. I don't care how he rationalized it. I don't care how he spins it. There's no excuse for the way that he treated you...I taught the guy a lesson. Nobody treats you that way. Not while I'm alive and kicking," Deacon said.

Deacon rattled off an entire list of Carter's perceived transgressions against Hope. "I appreciate that your heart was in the right place, but Carter could press charges," Hope warned. Deacon promised Hope he'd never go to jail again before surprising Hope. "Listening to his excuses, it really made me realize what a good guy you had in Liam," Deacon added.

"I appreciate the good intention, but I really just wish you had stayed out of it," Hope said. Deacon told Hope he didn't want to ever see Daphne and Carter at his restaurant, but Hope didn't think Carter would try to hurt her like that. Deacon admitted that Hope's marriage to Liam wasn't always perfect, but he now saw a different side of Liam.

Yes, Liam could be annoying. "But the guy's got a big heart, just like you," Deacon said. "I know how lucky Beth and I are to have him in our lives," Hope said. Hope admitted that she and Liam shared a lot of history and had good times. "I just wish things had ended differently. I hurt him badly," she said.

Hope felt bad for not checking in on Liam for a while. "I couldn't imagine my life without him in it," Hope admitted.

Daphne got as close to Carter's face as she could without actually kissing him, but she also had a few things to say. "You're a good man, Carter. You need to move on from Hope. Your whole future's in front of you. You just need to grab it," she said. Before they could kiss, Carter turned away. "Whenever you're ready," Daphne added before walking out of the design office.
