The Bold and the Beautiful: First point scored in Operation Carter Walton

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Steffy’s self-titled plan, “Operation Carter Walton,” looks well underway and already shows promises of success as Daphne Rose gets close to Carter.

The Bold and the Beautiful: Operation Carter Walton

Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) coined “Operation Carter Walton” as her semi-secret plan to get back the family company. Hope for the Future head designer and Steffy’s cousin, Zende (Delon De Metz), knows Steffy has a plan but doesn’t know the details. Regardless, he’s ready and willing to help make it a success if he can.

Operation Carter Walton is all about having Steffy’s friend and the “Nose of Paris,” Daphne Rose (Murielle Hillaire), use her feminine wiles and intoxicating scents to seduce Carter. Between mesmerizing him with fragrances and flirtatious games, Daphne and Steffy hope Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) will lose control and act on his attraction, causing his relationship with Hope to crack and crumble.

Daphne Rose has been playing a solid flirt game with Carter since she arrived, with lots of eye contact and double entendres (inserting some French here to keep it on point). Carter is being led to distraction as Daphne tells him they have a connection, and she came to Forrester Creations for only one reason, leading Carter to think he is it. It's a woman's prerogative to be mysterious, and Daphne sure is that. However, what she is clear about, to Carter at least, is that they share a mutual attraction.

Hook, Line, and Stinker

So beguiled is Carter by every move Daphne makes he doesn't even try to catch himself as Daphne alluringly tossed her hair back and sprayed a selection of fragrances on either side of her neck. “Choose,” she purred. Carter is all over that offer, like icing on the cake. Easily forgetting himself, he eagerly leaned in, with an arm around her, pulling her close and sniffing so slowly and agonizingly close to her skin that he didn't even notice the love of his life had walked into the office and was staring like a deer in the headlights at the scene taking place in front of her.

Hope watched from the doorway for more than a little before asking Carter what was happening. Distracted and caught in the act, Carter stammered and paused before telling Hope he was trying to choose which Forrester fragrances they should launch first. Even Hope could see that response was questionable, it looked more like a romantic moment to Hope and certainly felt that way to the viewers.

The seed has been planted now, and Hope will (or should) be on high alert. She may recall what it was like when she and Carter were sneaking around, and it shouldn’t be lost on her that it was all that flirting at the beginning was what had Carter interested in Hope in the first place. Score One for Steffy and “Operation Carter Walton.”
