The Bold and the Beautiful: Fans react to Brooke failing to win Ridge back

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Brooke saw an opportunity to talk to Ridge after he visited Forrester Creations, but her way of trying to win her “Destiny” back fell flat.

Brooke asked Ridge if he could join her in the design office so they could talk. She said she was trying to get Carter to reverse his decision and return the company to the Forresters and that she would happily step aside as CEO.

But the conversation didn’t go as well as it sounded in Brookes's head, and here's why: Instead of telling Ridge what she said to Carter and Katie and agreeing that Hope influenced Carter to trick the Forresters out of their company, she wouldn’t say it to Ridge. Brooke could have led with that and how she knows Carter feels guilty, but instead, she defended Hope and her actions. Of course, that only got Ridge’s back up.

Considering that very issue was at the heart of their last arguments, she ensured this conversation went nowhere as well. In fact, how any of her defenses of Hope would make Ridge think Brooke was trying to help is beyond me. And, predictably, Ridge walked out with Brooke as she pleaded for him to reunite.

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful took to the message boards on Soap Central to discuss their thoughts about the latest conversation between Ridge and Brooke.

All of Brooke's Sweet Words And Begging Is Not Moving Ridge Closer To Her

Soap Central Message Board commenter, lovely rita, got the conversation started with, “He blames Hope and wants Hope to listen. she stole from people and that's wrong.”

Bnbtayfan wrote, “I am glad. Brooke is out of her tactics and she’s getting n frustrated. Why not start with apologising for the slap? Ridge is clear that it’s her daughter who not his who drove the wedge between them. And I want this golden streak to continue. And yet Brooke continues to blame Steffy and ridge and dismiss Taylor’s presence in ridge’s life. Even though Taylor acknowledged Brooke.”

lovely rita replied, “I was happy Ridge walked out the door on Brooke. She can't seem to win him back and why? It's all about her daughter..the golden child being vindictive, bringing up Steffy to him that she was a threat to her daughter and that was something he didn't want to hear.”

Bnbtayfan added, “It’s actually Hope who was threatening Steffy’s marriage, her brother and eventually her company. Brooke’s perception of her fragile little daughter is beyond delusional. And not to mention the blame game and pity party.”

lovely rita replied, “Exactly. Hope was the threat to Steffy. But Brooke is not backing down trying to place the blame for the coup on Steffy's treatment of her daughter. It's not going to work with Ridge. I think he still has feelings for B. but I hope he's slowly seeing the light...she will always put her daughter before him and both she and her daughter hate his daughter and Taylor.”

Iluvthedusk weighed in here with, “I surely hope Ridge is done with Brooke this time. She keeps making excuses and speaking on behalf of "her daughter." Hope is well able to speak for herself. And she hasn't backed down an inch. Brooke is so used to being manipulative and seducing when it comes to Ridge. She's sickening forreal right now. Her and Hope.”

There are a lot of valid points here, and there is agreement on the fact that Brooke could be handling things a little better this time on The Bold and the Beautiful.
