Brooke's too-secret plan on The Bold and the Beautiful

On The Bold and Beautiful, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) has accepted Carter's (Lawrence Saint-Victor) offer to become the new CEO of Forrester Creations. It was beginning to look as though Brooke, like her daughter Hope (Annika Noelle), was fawning over Carter and was all aboard the takeover train. But don't worry — Brooke has a plan.

However, Brooke talked with Zende (Delon De Metz) and explained that her becoming the newest CEO of Forrester Creations was not the betrayal to the Forrester family that it appeared. It turned out that Brooke planned to return the company to Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric (John McCook) and restore their legacy.

Hanging on to each of Brooke’s words, Zende wanted to know about this plan. Brooke swore Zende to secrecy, so this plan has got to be high caliber and sneaky enough that if you put a tail on it, you could call it a weasel, right?

Brooke broke down her bold plan: She would talk to Carter. Thats it. That was how she told Zende that she would return FC to the Forresters. Brooke spoke of how it was unethical and wrong what Carter and Hope did but still defended that they had no choice but to do what they did because Carter's ideas were dismissed, and Hope, well…she’s Hope.

Zende was full of praise for this plan and said Ridge would be so happy to know that Brooke was on his side and would get his company back. “What's your first move?” Zende asked enthusiastically. Brooke told him she would use her position as the new CEO to talk to Carter and get him to refile the LLC papers and reinstate Ridge and Steffy as co-CEOs. Brooke again told Zende that he couldn’t tell anyone. Zende agreed, but that could have been an easy promise as he doesn't actually know anything anyway. Quite simply, Brooke doesn't have a plan. She has a…concept of a plan, but that was enough for Zende.

The “Plan” — the word plan is being used rather loosely here — all hinges on Carter refiling the LLC paperwork and putting things back to the way they used to be.

But why would Carter do that? He’s got everything the way he wants. The Hope for the Future line is being relaunched, Hope is back at work in her villain-chic wardrobe, and Carter still gets to fool around in the office with his girlfriend. There is no motivation to throw that away, Brooke.

Unless… Brooke uses her feminine wiles to make Carter think he has a shot with her. Carter might fall into the trap and forget about Hope long enough to make a major mistake with his girlfriend's mother. It's not the first time a storyline has been as wild as that, so it is possible. Carter could be convinced to refile the LLC papers to impress Brooke. He stole a company to impress Hope. Brooke being able to convince Carter he was wrong and having Carter convince Hope of the same is straining the bounds of credulity at the least. But that's just problem number one.

Problem number two is happening at the Forrester mansion. Brooke continued talking to Zende, saying she couldn't wait to tell Ridge she was on his side and would never betray him. For some inexplicable reason, Brooke and Zende don’t think Ridge will keep up with any major media announcements from the company and are in the dark about Brooke taking Ridge’s position at Forrester. Brooke decided (after the live press release to the world) that she must be the first to talk to Ridge and explain why she took his position as CEO.

But as Zende and Brooke are talking, Ridge is getting very close to Taylor (Rebecca Budig). And by “close,” we mean they were undressing in bed.

And herein lies the rub: Brooke arrives at the Forrester mansion to tell her true love that he does not need to question her loyalty; she's doing it for him and the whole Forrester family. It vaguely sounds like what Carter claims are his motives, but I digress. Ridge is with who he thinks is his true love, and it's not Brooke.

What happens next on The Bold and the Beautiful

At the front door, Brooke is calling out, “Ridge, I need to talk to you, Ridge!” But Ridge is preoccupied. Brooke has never missed an opportunity to let herself into rooms unannounced; the fact that she’s knocking is a first. But will she this time?

What is happening behind that door would break her heart and complete the circle. When destiny writes a book, it’s always bound to have a twist of fate, and The Bold and the Beautiful is no exception.

Next week, Brooke does get to tell Ridge that she did it all for him. But Ridge is still upset, snapping back, “You put a knife in my back for me?!” If Ridge knows Brooke’s actual plan, will it change anything for him and Taylor? Or is Taylor getting another dose of Broken Heart Syndrome in her stocking while Brooke gets her man under the mistletoe?
