At Dr. Buckingham’s office, Taylor and Ridge were stunned. Grace explained that the cardiac enzyme test confirmed to her that Taylor didn’t have heart failure. Taylor said suggesting that she had broken heart syndrome was ridiculous. Ridge said he hadn't known it was a real thing. Grace said additional tests would confirm it with absolute certainty.
Grace explained that if Taylor had done more tests in Europe, her doctor there would have ruled out heart failure. Taylor insisted that she didn’t have broken heart syndrome. Taylor insisted Grace was wrong. The doctor said it was a very valid condition and potentially dangerous. Grace said it had started with an emotionally stressful event that had weakened her heart.
Grace warned that if Taylor’s symptoms weren’t addressed properly, they could pose a threat in the future. She reminded Taylor that it was common for people to be able to address their broken hearts by talking about their emotions and feelings. Taylor snapped that she was an expert in her field, and her physical symptoms were not a figment of her imagination. She said that her whole body had been suffering. “Broken heart syndrome? What a joke,” Taylor said before she walked out.
Liam and Steffy had a business meeting and then talked about how Kelly constantly talked about her Grandma. Steffy said she was sure her mom wanted to spend as much time with her grandkids as possible. Because the kids were at the age of forming their core memories, Taylor wanted to have an impact on them.

Steffy said Taylor was dying to be there with her family. Liam noted that Taylor got antsy and disliked staying rooted anywhere for too long. Steffy agreed but said something was different. Steffy’s intuition said something significant had happened in Taylor’s life that had drawn her back to L.A.
Liam asked if Steffy hoped her parents would reunite. Steffy said she was too old to force anything, and she was staying out of it. Steffy thought it was frustrating that they were putting off what was meant to be. Liam reminded Steffy that Ridge and Brooke were together.
Steffy and Liam agreed that Taylor had navigated some tough times with dignity and grace, and she had never once felt sorry for herself. They talked about how caring Taylor was—and how skilled at what she did. Steffy hoped that Taylor would have an awakening and realize what she had been missing in L.A. Steffy said Taylor deserved to have it all. “Including your dad?” Liam asked.
Bill told Brooke that he had spoken from the heart, but Katie had shut him down “hardcore.” Brooke said she thought Katie was open to a future with Bill. He explained that Katie hadn’t made peace with his past behavior. “She doesn’t want a future with you because of me,” Brooke said.
Bill said Katie had her guard up, but they were both single, so it was the perfect time to reunite their family. “But Katie won’t because of me,” Brooke repeated. Bill said it was because of both of them. Bill said he would do anything for Katie, but he couldn’t take back what he had done. Brooke said she believed in second chances. Brooke offered to talk to Katie on Bill’s behalf and convince her to change her mind. Bill said seeing the best in him wasn't easy, but Brooke always did.
Bill asked about Brooke and Ridge and why they weren’t married. Brooke assured Bill that she and Ridge were very committed and didn’t need a piece of paper to prove they loved one another. Brooke said she had Ridge, who had been married many times, but if one of them needed to do it again, they would.
Bill suggested that Ridge was spending a lot of time with Taylor as she was in town. Brooke said they were, as Ridge and Taylor were family with children and grandchildren. Bill asked where Ridge was, but Brooke said she didn’t keep tabs on him. Bill told Brooke he was willing to bet that Ridge was with Taylor.
At the beach house, Taylor was infuriated at her diagnosis. Ridge thought she should be happy that she had found out she didn’t have heart failure. Taylor said the name “broken heart syndrome” made her feel foolish and weak. Ridge agreed the name was weird, but her symptoms were real.
Ridge encouraged Taylor to stop ignoring the good things that happened. He reminded her that she had once told him the mind and body were connected. The physical symptoms she had might have started as a mental thing, and it was not something to ignore. Taylor said that Grace was trivializing what her body had been going through. Ridge suggested Taylor was trivializing that she had been told she wasn’t dying.
Taylor asked if Ridge was seriously trying to analyze her. Taylor snapped that she had a life. Taylor asked if Grace thought Taylor was still in love with Ridge. Taylor asked if he thought her life had stopped the day that he had walked out the door to Brooke. Ridge gave her a look. “You think it’s you. You think you have that effect on me?” Taylor asked. She got frustrated at Ridge’s ego. Taylor said she wasn’t living in the past and pining for him.
Taylor said that it couldn't be broken heart syndrome. Ridge told her that she was alive, and she should accept it. Ridge said Grace had told Taylor she would be around for years and decades instead of weeks or months, but only if she faced it head-on. Taylor told Ridge he couldn’t tell anyone, including Brooke. Ridge agreed to keep her secret. Taylor wondered how it had happened. Ridge said he didn’t know how she had gotten there, but she wasn’t alone. “I’m with you. Always,” Ridge told Taylor.
