In the design office, Hope promised to never kiss Finn again, but Steffy said it wouldn’t happen because Hope would never be alone with him. “Finn and I are...” Hope replied. Steffy asserted that Hope and Finn were nothing, and the sooner Hope got that, the better.

Steffy stated that she’d told Finn the same thing. Hope said not to be upset with Finn. Steffy insisted that Finn didn’t need Hope to defend him and that he’d never betray Steffy. She said betrayal was who Hope was, and Finn had had to learn that for himself. “And, boy, did he ever,” Steffy said, declaring that whatever friendship Hope had had with Finn was over.

Hope insisited she didn’t want Steffy to punish Finn for what Hope had done or to ban him from relationships. “Inappropriate relationships? You bet I am,” Steffy replied. Hope said Finn was a good man, and Steffy was lucky to have him. Steffy didn’t want Hope telling her how lucky she was. In Steffy’s mind, Finn knew what he’d done wrong and shouldn’t have let Hope kiss him. Hope murmured that he hadn’t seen her coming.

Steffy announced that she’d be leaving town for a bit. She needed space from it all, but she still loved Finn. She felt she needed space and that she owed it to her marriage to work through it. Steffy warned Hope about acting on her inherited instincts—and if Hope couldn’t help it, she could find someone else’s husband because she was no longer allowed around Steffy’s.

In Eric’s office, Taylor was in disbelief that Hope had kissed Finn, but then Taylor realized that it was no surprise that Brooke’s daughter would kiss the husband of Taylor’s daughter. Brooke replied that she was just as appalled by it and wouldn’t make excuses. Taylor sniped that there were no excuses, and it was like mother, like daughter.

Brooke didn’t want to turn it into a war, but Taylor said it was typical Logan behavior to go for the most inappropriate man. Ridge said Taylor had a point about the guy Hope had chosen. Brooke replied that Hope hadn’t been “choosing” Finn. Taylor hoped Brooke wouldn’t say that Hope had been following her heart. Brooke didn’t know what Hope had been doing. Taylor asserted that Hope had been going after Steffy’s husband.

Taylor noted that Hope had resisted her genes for as long as she could, and Brooke had to be proud to have Hope on her "team." Brooke stated that it wasn’t about teams, but Taylor wanted to make it all about sides. Taylor readily agreed. Ridge intervened, but as he spoke, Hope arrived.

Hope was surprised to see Taylor, but Ridge murmured that it wasn’t the only surprise of the day. Taylor accused Hope of purposely targeting Finn, and Hope glared at Brooke. Taylor had believed that Hope had been different and had grown up ashamed of her mother’s actions. Hope said that was Taylor’s interpretation, but Hope’s decisions had been her own.

Taylor recalled that Hope hadn’t wanted to turn into Brooke or bounce from man to man, destroying marriages. Ridge interrupted, but Taylor insisted that there had been the back and forth with Liam, then there had been Thomas, and now Finn. Taylor was realizing more and more that Hope was just like her mother. Brooke shook her head at Taylor.

In a Forrester props closet, R.J. was glad to finally see Luna, as texting hadn’t seemed like enough to him. She said she hadn’t been able to bring herself to go into the office to face questions and looks. She didn’t want to believe it about her mom, but the evidence against Poppy was strong. Luna said Poppy might actually be a murderer. Luna revealed that she and Bill had taken another paternity test, and she wasn’t his daughter.

Luna said she’d thought she’d been getting a family. Sure she had a lot of conflicting emotions, R.J. offered to let her stay with him. She thanked him but said Bill had still welcomed her. She felt as if she needed to be there for Bill. R.J. was confused as to why Luna would stay when her mom was gone and Luna had had no family connection to begin with.

Luna claimed she’d lost a father, and Bill had lost a daughter. She felt that Bill needed her. “And I need him,” she asserted.

At Bill’s house, Liam learned about Poppy being in jail and that Luna wasn’t Bill’s daughter. Liam asked if Bill was okay after losing the two women. Bill didn’t think he’d lost anything yet. An arrest didn’t mean Poppy had done it, and he still planned to always be there for Luna.

Bill didn’t think it made sense that Poppy would murder to solidify a life with him. He said she could have gone after his money years earlier. He asked why she hadn’t gone after the money at any point during the 20 years. Liam reasoned that she might have thought Tom was the father, and she’d have needed to fake a test.

Bill pointed out that Li had run the test. Liam figured Li would do it for Poppy, but Bill said the sisters didn’t get along at all. Bill couldn’t wrap his head around it. Figuring it was worse for Luna, he said he had that sweet, innocent little girl’s back. Bill shared that Luna was in a vulnerable state and confused. “Very confused,” he said, thinking of the kiss. Bill vowed to be there for Luna.

Steffy arrived, looking for Liam. She said his assistant had said he’d be there. Steffy told Bill that she was sorry about Poppy. For the record, Steffy asserted her belief that Sheila was the real culprit. Steffy asked Liam to take care of Kelly while she went out of town.

Liam figured Finn and Steffy needed to get away, but from the way Steffy was acting, Liam deduced that something had happened. He was shocked to hear that Hope had kissed Finn, and Finn had allowed it. Bill was surprised to hear it, too. Steffy didn’t want to get into it. She thanked Liam for saying he’d watch Kelly, and she took off.

Later, Bill was alone when Luna arrived home. She said she’d been to Forrester to talk to R.J., and Bill was sure it had helped to talk to her boyfriend. Luna made a face at the mention of the word “boyfriend” and said she wasn’t sure R.J. understood everything she was going through—no one did except for Bill. Bill said it was a lot, and she was handling it with grace.

Luna didn’t think she was. Bill assured her that she’d get through it with his help. Luna didn’t think there was any reason for him to pay any attention to her anymore. Bill insisted that he still cared about her, and she shouldn’t be confused about that. He wasn’t her dad, but he was still there for her. She cried, feeling as if her world was falling apart. Bill promised he wasn’t going anywhere and said she could stay as long as she wanted.

Steffy slipped back in the front door to retrieve something she’d left on a table. When she heard Luna and Bill talking, she tried to be quiet. Their conversation intrigued her, and she listened in.

Luna was telling Bill how kind and generous he’d been, and it was no wonder her mother had fallen for him. She asked what woman wouldn’t. She said he was committed, loyal, strong, and handsome. Luna kissed him again. Steffy’s jaw dropped.
