In the design office, Brooke asked what had possessed Hope to kiss Finn. Hope got upset, and Brooke calmed her daughter down, saying Brooke had to know exactly what had happened.

Later, Brooke was frustrated, asking if Hope knew how bad it could have been if Steffy had seen what Hope had done. Shocked by her own behavior, Hope was freaking out about being out of control. Brooke asked what Hope had been thinking. Hope couldn’t say. Brooke asked if Hope had been worried about being caught.

Hope guessed she’d been thinking only about Finn and that she might be able to get him to see that she was a better fit and better able to give him what he needed. She said the kiss had felt right until she’d opened her eyes and seen Finn’s reaction, at which point reality had set in, and she’d been embarrassed. She didn’t understand her own recklessness.

Brooke did understand and said that Hope was becoming fixated on Steffy’s husband. Brooke asked if Steffy should be concerned that Hope was going after Steffy’s husband. Hope said she didn’t “want” to be doing that. She’d gotten caught up in the moment, but she wouldn’t let it happen again. Brooke asked if Hope could really control her feelings.

Hope said she’d have to because Finn was extremely upset with her. She’d begged him to let it go and move past it, but he’d insisted on telling Steffy. Brooke’s mouth dropped open. Brooke panicked, sure Steffy would lash out and try to drive a wedge between the families again.

Hope apologized. She admitted she hadn’t thought of how it would affect Brooke and Ridge or even her line—she hadn’t thought at all. Brooke was more concerned about Hope, whose behavior was out of character. It had all started when the married Hope had kissed Thomas in Rome, and now she was having feelings for Finn. Brooke was really concerned about Hope and said it would hurt Hope in ways Hope couldn’t imagine if Hope couldn’t stop her feelings for Finn.

Hope agreed. She didn’t understand why she was doing it, but she didn’t want to do it to Finn. Hope was at a loss for an explanation but said she’d try.

In Eric’s office, Taylor leaned on the doorway, saying she could watch Ridge sketch all day. Ridge gave her a hug, pleasantly surprised to finally see her. She said the wait was over, and she was back. She hoped he wasn’t disappointed. “See you? Never,” he replied.

Taylor showed off pictures of her with Douglas in Paris, and she said he lit up every time he saw art that he liked. Ridge figured it was really due to Douglas being with his very attractive grandmother. Taylor said Thomas seemed happy, and Ridge stated that he could hear Thomas’ joy bursting through the phone. Ridge realized Taylor had known about Paris and Thomas’ engagement first, and Taylor disclosed that their son had confided in her.

Taylor spoke about seeing Steffy, who’d been having a rough time. Taylor had promised their daughter that she would get home as soon as she could. Taylor said she’d missed her daughter and grandkids, and she’d missed Ridge, too.

The topic turned to Brooke’s Bedroom. Taylor congratulated Ridge. She flashed back on seeing him with Brooke in Monanco and said he’d been handsome—in the photos she’d seen. She’d thought he’d be focusing on couture, not lingerie. Ridge guessed she’d talked to Steffy.

Taylor questioned Ridge putting Brooke on the executive team. Ridge said he’d needed help with Eric and Thomas gone. Taylor got why Ridge had done it, but she said he’d chosen for Steffy instead of letting Steffy choose. Ridge said he hadn’t chosen “for” Steffy; he’d just chosen the best person for the job. Taylor brought up him saving HFTF.

“Okay, here we go,” Ridge muttered. He stated that he’d always do what was best for the company, but Taylor asked about what was best for Steffy. Taylor claimed that her kids were adults but would always be her babies. She hoped she hadn’t come on too strong about the company. Ridge said she had, but it was what he loved about her.

Someone named Emma delivered fabrics. After she’d gone, Ridge assured Taylor that Steffy would be fine. Taylor understood Ridge’s point of view, but also seeing where Steffy was coming from, Taylor asked why he hadn’t let their daughter weigh in on putting Brooke on the executive team. “What are you talking about? You know why I didn’t. They don’t like each other,” he responded. He hadn’t wanted to open it up if Brooke hadn’t even been interested.

Taylor asked if Ridge thought it was a good idea for Steffy and Brooke to work closely together. He asserted that it was a great idea. It was great for the company, and the women could become friends. “And Hope for the Future?” Taylor asked. Ridge didn’t think Hope was wrong, but he said they’d invested a lot in it. It was premature to pull the plug.

Ridge asked if he’d passed Taylor’s test. Taylor said she hadn’t been testing him, but he’d passed. They each said they'd missed the banter. Ridge said that to make it work, it had to be the Logans and Forresters together. It was the way to leave something for the grandkids, and he had to start with Hope and Steffy. Taylor hoped he was right.

At the cliff house, Steffy was in disbelief when Finn told her that Hope’s lips had touched his. “You let her kiss you,” Steffy surmised, but Finn said he’d had no idea Hope would do that. Steffy asked how many times she’d asked him to stay away from Hope. He replied that it had been a lot. She said she’d warned him again and again to keep his distance; however, he hadn’t listened to her, and Hope had wound up kissing him.

Finn understood why Steffy was upset, but he said he hadn’t had anything to do with Hope’s actions. Steffy said he’d had a lot to do with it, and he hadn’t wanted to believe what she’d been saying about Hope and the Logans. Finn said he’d been trying to make things peaceful. She wondered why he thought it was his place. “You should have listened to your wife!” she said.

Steffy asserted that Hope was out of control and lost. Finn agreed but said he’d been trying to be a friend. Steffy accused Finn of caring more about a friendship with Hope than respecting his wife’s feelings. Steffy said he should have gone the opposite way when he’d seen Hope coming, but he’d allowed her to disrespect their marriage, putting her lips on Finn.

Steffy said she should have known Hope would make a play for him and figured he’d seen that she’d been into him. He said he hadn’t thought Hope would kiss him or that a war would erupt. Steffy yelled that he wanted peace, but he was making things worse by being too kind and too compassionate with Sheila and Hope.

Finn replied that it was two different things. Steffy disagreed, accusing him of ignoring and devaluing her feelings about the women. She said she couldn’t do it, and he asked what that meant. She said it felt like she was the only one fighting for them, and he wanted to be everyone’s superhero at her expense. Finn replied that it wasn’t true.

Steffy brought up Sheila and said it spoke volumes that he could even look at Sheila. She said Hope was toxic, but he’d wanted to be friends with her. It was bad enough that he’d kissed another woman, but it being Hope made it worse. Steffy stated that she’d promised herself she’d never do that back-and-forth with Hope again.

Finn said he heard Steffy, and she was right. He hadn’t been listening. He assured her that he would have shut it down if he’d known, and he’d never do anything to jeopardize their marriage. He admitted that he’d been wrong for not listening, but he’d been trying to do the right thing. He asked for forgiveness and said he’d never let anything like that happen again.
