In Finn’s office, Li was pleased to hear that Finn planned to check on Luna. Finn felt guilty for not doing it sooner, given everything Luna was going through. Li reminded him that he was dealing with a lot himself. Finn insisted that there could be no secrets between him and his wife. Li advised him not to bring up those issues with Luna, who had enough on her plate already.

Finn considered surprising Luna at her apartment after his shift, but Li mentioned that Luna was hardly ever there since moving in with Bill. Realizing that Luna could be anywhere, even at R.J.’s, Finn decided to text Luna before visiting her. Looking at his phone, he was unsettled by the fact that Steffy hadn’t reached out to him yet. He wondered where she could be.

In Eric’s office, Ridge told Brooke that just because Steffy needed to get away from Finn, it didn’t mean she had to leave work, as well. Ridge admitted that he needed Steffy around. Brooke offered to help, but Ridge said that Steffy had a tendency to do that kind of thing sometimes, and he just wanted to make sure she was okay.

Understanding Ridge’s concern, Brooke suggested that Steffy probably just needed a few days to sort things out. Ridge said the real issue was not knowing where Steffy was. He added that the situation wouldn’t have happened if Hope had kept her lips off Finn, which had damaged Hope’s friendship with Finn and was the reason Steffy had left town.

Brooke assured Ridge it was only temporary, and after Steffy had time to think things through, she’d be back with Finn. Ridge was worried because Steffy hadn’t communicated with him. Brooke continued trying to reassure him, saying Steffy just needed some time alone and would return to her husband soon. Despite her reassurances, Ridge remained concerned about Steffy’s whereabouts, but Brooke reminded him that Steffy could take care of herself.

In the jail visitation area, the guard announced another visitor for Poppy. Poppy was surprised to see Bill arrive. She could only imagine what he was thinking, but she swore she was innocent and asked him to say he believed her. Bill admitted that he didn’t know what to believe, given the damning evidence. Poppy insisted she wasn’t capable of murder.

Bill and Poppy's conversation turned to the paternity test. Bill confirmed that Luna wasn’t his daughter, and he asked how the first test could have been wrong. Poppy swore she'd had nothing to do with it, and she said her heart had broken for Bill. She emphasized that Luna still loved him.

Poppy asked Bill to look after Luna. Bill flashed back to telling Luna she couldn’t kiss him. He told Poppy that Luna was struggling with everything that had happened. Poppy asked if Luna had acted out. He replied that the transition had been difficult, but he wouldn’t abandon Luna.

As the guard called an end to the visit, Poppy told Bill she loved him and implored him not to doubt her innocence. After Bill left, the guard brought in another visitor—Finn. Finn expressed his concern for his Aunt Poppy. Poppy reassured him that she would be okay, but it was Luna who worried her.

Later, Finn asked Poppy if she knew how the backpack had ended up where it had been found. Poppy said she didn’t and acknowledged how suspicious it looked, but she insisted she would never harm anyone just to hold onto her lifestyle with Bill. She told Finn that he knew her better than that. Finn agreed but said the evidence against her was compelling.

Poppy maintained that she was being set up. Finn asked if there were cameras or proof of her innocence. When she said there weren’t, she asked if he would go to her apartment and find evidence that could lead to the real killer.

In Baker’s office, the chief was surprised to see Luna, especially since she was there to incriminate her mother. The tearful Luna informed him that her mother had killed both men. Baker reminded Luna that it was a serious accusation, and he asked how she could be so sure. Luna claimed Poppy had confessed it to her.

Baker was puzzled because Luna had previously defended her mother so passionately. Luna explained that she didn’t want her mother to be in prison, but Poppy had killed Tom to hide Luna’s paternity. She said that when Hollis had confronted Poppy, Poppy had killed him, too. Baker noted that it aligned with other evidence, and he asked if Luna would write a statement. Luna hesitated, fearing it would ruin her relationship with her mother, but she eventually agreed, saying that telling the truth about Poppy was the right thing to do.

In the condemned apartment, a sweaty Steffy had removed her jacket. She screamed for help, wondering where Finn was. Steffy sobbed, pleading for someone to help her. When she heard noises, she started yelling again. Luna arrived with a smoothie, reminding Steffy that she had told Steffy no one could hear her.

Luna explained that her apartment was the only occupied one left in the building. Doubting she’d have time to remove the unnecessary things she didn’t need from there, Luna hinted at her plans. Steffy asked what Luna intended to do with her. Steffy tried to persuade Luna to turn herself in for leniency, but Luna confidently stated she would never get caught.

Luna gloated about sealing her mother’s fate. She claimed that Baker had dragged a confession out of her about Poppy’s involvement in the murders. She lied that she had even offered a statement, adding that things were looking bleak for both Poppy and Steffy. Luna believed she had covered all her bases except for Steffy.

Luna explained that it wasn’t personal. She admired Steffy as an amazing boss and role model but couldn’t allow Steffy to interfere with the life Luna deserved. Steffy pleaded with Luna to consider her cousin and his children. Luna coldly responded that Steffy would never see them again. “How dare you say that!” Steffy yelled. As Luna opened the door to leave, Steffy screamed that Luna wouldn’t get away with it.
