Grammy-winning music artist Lil Nas X will make his acting debut next month on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Rapper, singer, songwriter Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, will make his acting debut next month when he takes a trip down the "Bold" town road to The Bold and the Beautiful.

Like any good soap opera story, there's an entire plotline of how the rapper's appearance happened.

Lil Nas X appeared in the latest installment of Late Late Show host James Corden's Carpool Karaoke. After performing some of the rapper's hits like Industry Baby and the chart-topping Old Town Road, Corden asked Lil Nas X if he had ever contemplated getting into acting.

"I want to get into acting at some point," Lil Nas X replied.

Corden then revealed that he had "lined something up" for the pop star -- on The Bold and the Beautiful. While the singer said that he had heard of the long-running CBS soap, sadly he had never watched the show.

The duo then made their way to The Bold and the Beautiful studio, where they were greeted by B&B director Cynthia J. Popp on the Il Giardino set. Lil Nas X introduced himself to Popp as "Montero."

Popp told Hill that he would be playing a waiter and handed him a script with the nine lines that he'd need to memorize. She then told Corden that he'd be playing a "bus boy" with no lines. Feigning outrage, Corden pointed to actors seated on set and asked if they had any lines. Popp politely explained that the actors -- Sean Kanan (Deacon Sharpe) and Annika Noelle (Hope Logan) -- were "the stars of the show" and would definitely have lines.

As Kanan and Noelle explained what was happening in their scene, Hill asked, "Is there a world when I'm the son and this whole time [Deacon] didn't know?"

We're not exactly sure how many takes it took to get the scene filmed, but the blooper reel is pretty entertaining.

Lil Nas X made history when his song "Old Town Road" topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking 19 weeks. The rapper then became the first artist to ever come out as gay while having the number one song. He has received five Billboard Music Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, and two Grammys -- 2020's Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video, both for "Old Town Road" and shared with Billy Ray Cyrus, whose vocals appeared on the remix.

You can watch the entire Carpool Karaoke segment -- complete with all the B&B bloopers -- below. The B&B portion kicks off at the six-minute mark. And tune in to The Bold and the Beautiful on April 19 to see the final cut when it airs.
