Congratulations are in order for The Bold and the Beautiful's Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer), who is thrilled to announce that he is one of the stars of the upcoming Apple TV+ series Amber Brown.
Based on the Amber Brown books by Paula Danziger, the series is an unfiltered look at a girl finding her own voice through art and music in the wake of her parents' divorce. It will star Carsyn Rose as the title character of Amber, an "everykid" who is going through what many children experience and making sense of her new family dynamic through her sketches and video diary.
Brooks will play the character of Max in the series, which has been filming in Utah under the direction of Bonnie Hunt, who is also serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
"So Happy and Proud to announce this," Brooks shared on Instagram. "My new @appletvplus show I've been working on here in Utah: AMBER BROWN!! Helmed by the incredible @bonniehunt_real, Bob Higgins and Michelle Manning!"
Brooks also gives a shout-out to his "amazingly talented" co-stars, Rose, Sarah Drew, Liliana Inouye, Michael Yo, and Ashley Williams (ex-Dani Andropoulos, As the World Turns).
"I'm so incredibly blessed to be working with you all!! You're all BRILLIANT in this," the actor writes, adding that fans will have to check out the series when it drops because everyone will "love it."
Hunt has created multiple TV shows in the past, such as The Building, Bonnie, and Life with Bonnie -- all of which saw her play the lead role. Her acting credits also include The Green Mile, Jerry Maguire, Dave, Beethoven, Escape at Dannemora, the Cars and Monsters Inc. franchises, the original Jumanji, and two of the Toy Story films.
Brooks has been playing the role of B&B's Wyatt since 2013, having gotten his start in the soap world playing the role of Days of our Lives' Max Brady from 2005 to 2011. His other credits include Blue Mountain State, Bloomers, Miss Behave, and the upcoming animated series The Croods: Family Tree.
While social media is abuzz with speculation about how Brooks's role in Amber Brown will affect his B&B status, a spokesperson tells Soap Central that "Darin Brooks remains on contract at The Bold and the Beautiful in the role of Wyatt Spencer."
