The gritty streets of east L.A. get an intense spotlight in Angel, the dark new film starring Jacob Young (ex-Rick Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-J.R. Chandler, All My Children; ex-Lucky Spencer, General Hospital).

Anyone who's watched Jacob Young in his various daytime roles -- Rick Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful, J.R. Chandler on All My Children, and Lucky Spencer on General Hospital -- knows how effortlessly he can pull out an intense dark side. But the beloved soap opera alum is taking that talent to a whole new level in his new film, Angel, which is now available.

The dark drama follows Young as an ominous street character who crosses paths with a homeless Latino kid in east Los Angeles. The young boy, played by Disney star Ricky Garcia, must face this devil and his demons as he performs miracles to save the local community.

Shared Young on social media, "Couldn't be more proud of @realrickygarcia He rocked this role! Pure and honest... I'm proud to be costarring along side such talented folks. Available now! 'Angel' coming to you strait from the streets of East LA."

As can be seen in the preview clip below, the film is quite gritty -- so much so that former The Young and the Restless star Sabryn Genet (ex-Tricia Dennison) made a comment on the post that reads, "This one is too dark for me."

In addition to Young, the cast of Angel includes Mia Hulen, Elizabeth Ruiz, Erwin Raphael McManus, Apryl Jones, Jessica Vanessa DeLeon, and Olivia Jordan. The film, which was written and directed by Jimmy Blondell, is available now on Amazon, Google Play, and iTunes.

Young got his start in the soap opera world playing B&B's Rick Forrester from 1997 to 1999. He went on to play GH's Lucky from 2000 to 2003 before taking on the role of AMC's J.R. in 2003. He played the legacy role of Adam Chandler's son until AMC's cancellation in 2011, at which point he returned to the role of B&B's Rick. He was dropped to recurring status at the CBS soap opera in 2018 and has since been pursuing a music career and other acting projects, including roles in Killer Vacation, The Road Home for Christmas, and the upcoming young adult series yA.
