On The Bold and the Beautiful, the self-proclaimed war between the Logans and the Forresters hit the acceleration pedal this month when Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) fired Hope Logan (Annika Noelle). Not only did the co-CEO of Forrester fire her Logan nemesis, but she also canceled her fashion line, Hope for the Future.
While Hope has felt that she was the underdog of the company for quite some time, her confidence picked up she got romantically involved with the company COO and lawyer, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Hope quickly found out what it was like to be with someone who was so loyal and smitten, they would risk everything they had to fight for the woman they loved.

Unable to convince Steffy to change her mind took its toll on Carter. His frustration compounded when he couldn’t convince his best friend, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye), to go against his co-CEO and daughter, Steffy, and reverse the decision to fire Hope and cancel HFTF.
But Carter's frustration boiled over when he was constantly rejected for proposing an expansion of the company into a global luxury brand. Although Eric Forrester (John McCook) permanently shut him down, Carter had hoped that Ridge would overrule that decision and come through for him. Instead, Carter felt ignored and devalued.
As a result, Carter and Hope enacted a plan to take over Forrester Creations, right the wrongs they felt had been done to them, and take the company to the heights they believed it could be — with Carter at the helm and Hope at his side.
What Happens Next
While weighing and reweighing their decision to pull off the coup of the year, Carter’s delay in filing the paperwork means they haven’t taken over quite yet. Now that Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) has broken her daughter’s trust and told Ridge that she had overheard Hope and Carter plotting the steps of their betrayal, there may be time to stop it from happening.
But the damage will have been done. It would be nearly impossible for Carter and Hope to recover and return to Forrester after their attempt to take over the company, even if they don’t follow through.
Carter’s friendship with Ridge will most likely never be the same, and Brooke is now walking a fine line of role reversal. Until she found out about Carter and Hope’s revenge plot, Brooke had been defending her daughter and wanted Ridge to go against his own. Now, their family life will most likely fracture. Not that there is much for him to be grateful about this Thanksgiving, but how can Ridge be at a holiday gathering with his family if it includes Hope and Carter?
It is quite possible that Ridge and Brooke’s relationship could be affected. Although Brooke didn’t reveal that she was eavesdropping, she immediately went to Ridge and told him that she had overheard her daughter and Carter plotting. Brooke will never turn her back completely on Hope, but with Ridge holding a grudge, that might not be something their relationship can handle.
At the moment, only Ridge, Brooke, and now attorney Justin Barber (Aaron D. Spears) know what Carter and Hope have done. However, once word spreads through the Forrester and Logan family, their relationships with one another will change forever.
Hope's world shatters when she realizes her mom has betrayed her. Convinced no one knew, Hope felt like she and Carter were living the dream and were empowered by her secret knowledge that she was about to be involved in controlling Forrester. Without her mom's full support, will Hope spiral even more? Brooke and Deacon (Sean Kanan) have mentioned many times that Hope has been struggling this year but was on her way back up. Will this push her in the opposite direction?
Zende (Delon de Metz), Katie, and Carter have implied that Hope was on some sort of pedestal at Forrester and that the majority of the employees would somehow revolt against the Forresters if they found out Hope was fired. Not only has that not happened as yet, but some viewers disagree that Hope is entitled to get revenge for her line failing, especially after the warnings she had gotten from the co-CEOs and, until last month, Carter as the Forrester Creations COO.
One Y&R fan, "Ekek," commented, "When I think of the goodness that Eric has extended to Deacon Sharpe's child, I want to scream. She presided over the Thanksgiving meals like the head of the family. She learned NOTHING about kindness and inclusion from Eric. It is always about her and being adored and getting what she wants."
Katie (Heather Tom) had been romantically involved with Carter not that long ago. Although both she and Carter assured Hope and Brooke they were not more than friends, how will she feel once she finds out he is now involved with her niece? Will Eric not feel betrayed by Carter, a man he has considered family and entrusted with his legacy at Forrester?
And then there is Steffy. She has known for a while that something has been off with Carter and was convinced that Hope somehow manipulated the way he was thinking, turning him against Forrester and the people he considered his closest friends. Although she will realize that Hope wasn’t after Finn that day in the office like it seemed, taking over the company is way out of line.
“All I can say is it will get more intense, more fabulous, and the twists will blow Steffy – and hopefully the audience – away,” Jacqueline MacInnes Wood shared with Soap Opera Digest
We won’t see the Forresters and the Logans putting their differences aside this Thanksgiving. Even if the show wasn’t pre-empted, it would be an unlikely setting.
The Bold and the Beautiful will not air on Thursday, November 28 (Thanksgiving Day in the United States). CBS Sports will be covering NFL Football instead. On Friday, November 29, the show is also pre-empted for College Football.
Full episodes resume their regular schedules on Monday, December 2, 2024, when the show airs on weekdays on CBS or can be streamed on Paramount Plus.
