Hope (Annika Noelle) was skeptical when Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) considered letting Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) return to Forrester Creations. She didn’t think they could trust Steffy not to be getting some sort of revenge on them for overtaking the company. However, Carter and Brooke had ulterior motives.

Citing that there wasn’t anything Steffy could do as president of Forrester, they thought it was more beneficial to have her be part of the leadership. Her presence would show the world that despite recent changes, a Forrester was still part of the executive team, as well as Zende (Delon de Metz) being lead designer on Hope for the Future. It silently gave a message to their customers that everything was calm and business as usual.

Additionally, Carter and Brooke hoped that having Steffy back in the fold would ultimately draw Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric (John McCook) in. Brooke’s motivations were a little more than professional, however. She hoped that if she could work with Ridge every day, she could win him back from Taylor (Rebecca Budig).

But Hope not only saw their vision as fruitless, she didn’t really want the Forresters back at all. She and Steffy have had nothing but a contentious relationship her whole life, and she doesn’t believe that Ridge cares about her as well. Hope is loving being at Carter’s side, running Forrester, and sticking it to them along the way.

In fact, she loves it so much that she is enjoying having the roles reversed and reminding Steffy every chance she gets that she is under Hope’s thumb now. Hope skepticism now has become more paranoid.

Hope doesn’t want to lose the power she has over Steffy, and in wanting it so much, she goes overboard in obsessing about it. On Wednesday, Hope lets her obsession with Steffy being at Forrester take precedence over everything else.

Is she even getting any work done, spending all of her time worrying about what Steffy is doing? Hope isn’t wrong — Steffy is there to get revenge. But part of her plan was to be a distraction. She wanted Hope to worry so much about what Steffy was up to that she didn’t notice what was going on between Carter and Daphne Rose.

Meanwhile, the other half of Steffy’s plan is working. Daphne seems to have Carter right where she wants him, and he’s been feeding out of her hand. Hope’s paranoia about Steffy might not work against her when she starts worrying about Carter and Daphne as well.

On Wednesday, Daphne gets acquainted with Zende. As he is unaware of her being part of Steffy’s plan, will he, too, be as charmed as the other men she has met at Forrester?
