The Bold and the Beautiful: Sean Kanan's new book strikes Barnes & Noble

On The Bold and the Beautiful, the stories entertain and unite us as fans and families, and one person who knows a thing or two about bringing people together is Sean Kanan, who plays Deacon Sharpe on the hit show.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Word to the Wise

Today, Sean Kanan and his wife Michelle are at Barnes & Noble in Palm Desert, California, doing a book signing event for their award-winning book “Way of the COBRA Couples.” The couple co-authored the book about protecting your identity within your relationship and not allowing who you are as an individual to disappear.

The book has been a resounding success so far, and Sean told Soap Central, “Michele and I are truly honored to have been awarded the International Impact Book Award for our latest book, Way of the COBRA couples.”

On his Instagram, the Kanans described it as a delicate balance and an art form to be a team player and keep the relationship performing in all areas while not losing your identity. There may be certain things that one wants as a goal — whether professionally or personally — that the other does not, and it's about supporting them and still working on the common goal of the relationship. You have to be self-advocate and feel safe expressing yourself; the only way that can happen is to have communication as an effective tool.

Two couples for the price of one

The book signing is happening today, Saturday, the 8th of Feb at 2 p.m. PT. Moderating questions will be none other than Sean's onscreen wife from The Bold and the Beautiful, Kimberlin Brown (Sheila Carter). Sheila has had a storied past but now seems to have settled down and put her nefarious past to rest, and both Deacon and Sheila appear to be living the quiet life. If anyone was going to impact Sheila's life for the better, who else would it be but Deacon? Maybe a little of Sean's wisdom and learned strategies for life and living a life of meaningful happiness have come through in his B&B character (See Sean's Editor’s Pick TEDX talk here).

Deacon has been great at offering life advice to those who need it, but after the recent discovery of Luna (Lisa Yamada) being Sheila's granddaughter has come to light, surely that will spark some…interesting moments.
