On The Bold and the Beautiful, and even when he was on the sister show The Young and the Restless, Deacon Sharpe has been well known for his self-serving ways over the years. However, the actor who plays him, Sean Kanan, likes to give back, as he did this week.

Earlier this week, Sean Kanan, who plays deacon Sharpe on The Bold and the Beautiful, extended his talents to do a public service announcement put together by VetComm. On their Instagram, Kate Monroe, CEO of VetComm, explained their goal. A video from the set was captioned, “Veterans, Kate and the crew are up in LA today creating a commercial with the goal of getting corporate america to lean in on taking care of veterans. Can’t wait for all of you guys to see the results!”
On his own Instagram, Sean Kanan gave us some behind the scenes video as well. Completely made over with long hair and an even longer gray beard, Kanan was nearly unrecognizable.
Kanan wrote, “Just another day at the office. Filming a PSA for @vetcommus veterans. We need to take care of all these brave men and women who have protected us. Dignity.”
In another post, Kanan shared a BTS photo of him holding a sign made on a piece of cardboard, with the message “Homeless veteran please help!” written on it. Next to Kanan is Monroe, who points to the sign.
“What an extraordinary and meaningful day today. Filmed a PSA about our veterans. We must all do more to help them. Thanks to my amazing friend and force of nature @katemonroeceo Kate Monroe and her company @vetcommus for putting this together,” Kanan captioned.
Unsurprisingly, fans of The Bold and the Beautiful around the world were appreciative to see Kanan’s involvement. ‘Appreciate you putting out the word for me and my brothers and sisters!” wrote IG user alistlk. Kanan replied, “just the beginning my friend. Thank you for your service.”

On Instagram, Tommy Denos shared meeting Sean Kanan, and how he appreciated what he had learned from him. Denos had participated in one of the star’s acting classes and wanted to share his experience.
