In the reception area, Ridge was enraged at Hope’s presence. Carter told Ridge he could either go back into the office or he could leave. “Would you please be man enough to admit that you stole this company for her?” Ridge seethed. Carter told Ridge, “I said ‘enough.’” Ridge told Hope that he’d given Carter an out, and he didn’t take it because of her. “When we right this ship, and everything’s back to normal, he’s gonna have lost everything because of you. And man, he’s going to hate you for it. The same way everyone else hates you. I’m not going to let you get away with this,” Ridge said to her.
Ridge told Carter that he should have taken the way out, but it was too late. Ridge said they’d get the company back, but Carter lost everything. He’d lost his integrity, his career, his friendship, and his place in the family, and he’d never get it back. “And for what? Because this little sob story didn’t get what she wanted?” Ridge asked, nodding to Hope. He wondered if Hope made him feel like a hero. “I love him, Ridge!” Hope cried. Ridge told her that was sweet but told Carter she was just playing him.
“Should’ve taken the deal, Carter,” Steffy said gravely. Eric told her that it was no surprise that he didn’t, given the man Carter had become. “We gave you a way out, but that was it. Game over,” Ridge said. He walked away, saying, “Let’s go,” to Brooke as he walked past her. Carter glared at Brooke as if he was daring her to pick his side and stay.
Steffy told Carter and Hope that Ridge might be done talking to him, but she wasn’t. She told Carter that they weren’t going to just accept what he did and wondered what was wrong with his head. Hope suggested they talk later when they calmed down. Steffy noted that Hope wasn’t even supposed to be in the building. Carter said he made those decisions now.

Hope and Steffy argued, but Carter intervened. He said blaming Hope was proving his point that Steffy wasn’t fair to Hope, and he was determined to bring a sense of fairness back to the company. “What’s fair about you tricking my family out of a business?” Steffy asked. Steffy told Carter that the man she knew was full of integrity and that he didn’t see that what he was doing was wrong because Hope had manipulated him. She said Carter was blind to it, but Hope had done this before. She pointed out that Hope misled Thomas and went after Flynn and was now using Carter for revenge.
Hope yelled at Steffy, asking if she remembered why she was fired. Steffy said firmly that she would never forget any of this. “This will be undone, and you’re going to wish you walked out of the building and kept going because you just turned an adversary into your worst nightmare,” Steffy told Hope. Steffy stomped through Hope, bodychecking her on the way out the door. Hope regained her balance, then she and Carter stared at one another and nodded in unspoken agreeance.
“So that was a lot,” Carter said to Hope when they were alone in the CEO’s office. He reminded her that they knew it was going to be a hard day. Hope cried about hearing the man she once called Dad saying the words that he did. “He thinks so little of me,” Hope sobbed. She told Carter they did what they thought was best, but it came at a heavy price. Hope reminded Carter how courageous she thought that he was. She pumped up his ego, telling him he was amazing, and said he was going to be great at running the company. “My first order of business as the guy who runs this joint is to reinstate HFTF,” Carter told her. Hope thanked him as he told her how much he loved her. “Never forget, you are a good man,” Hope said, emphasizing “good.” They began kissing passionately.
At Il Giardino, Deacon thanked Remy for handling the lunch rush so well. He was glad that Remy wanted to stick around L.A. for a while. “You have no idea,” Remy said ominously as Deacon walked away. Remy joined him at the bar and chit-chatted about Deacon’s life. Remy noted he’d heard that Hope was his daughter and was impressed. Remy asked more questions about the Logans and how Katie was Will’s mom. Deacon asked sarcastically if he should map out a family tree for him.
Remy explained that he had a friend from home who worked with them at Forrester. He said Electra was special to him, so he was trying to get a sense of her new life. He asked if he could take his break to bring a pizza to Electra.
In the salon, Zende reported to Will and Electra that Justin Barber was still upstairs, and things were intense. Zende noted that usually, issues were resolved quickly and was confused by the length of time the CEO’s office door had been closed.
Zende lamented how Steffy fired Hope. He said when the HFTF line was shut down, his feelings were hurt. Electra said that Hope and Steffy both seemed strong and inspiring. As they had so much in common, she thought that Steffy and Hope should want the same things. Zende just wanted to know what was going on in the CEO's office and said he would go up and see if anyone had heard anything. Will had to go take care of something and left with Zende.
Remy came into the salon with a pizza. He said he wondered what Electra was up to and decided to see for himself. Electra naively said she didn’t order a pizza, but Remy explained he wanted to surprise her and check out her new job. Remy reminded her that New York was their dream, and she was supposed to be modeling. Electra said that Forrester was a family business. “You haven’t even invited me over to meet them and see where you’re living. Come on, Electra, let’s get out of here. L.A.’s so fake,” Remy told her.
Electra told Remy she couldn’t leave. When she said they were just friends, Remy interrupted. “We’re more than friends. We care about each other so much!” Remy said. “But not like…that,” Electra stammered. Will came in and asked Remy what he was doing there.
Eric, Ridge, and Brooke came back to Eric’s house. Brooke suggested they all calm down and reminded Ridge that Carter was his best friend. Ridge said that his best friend wouldn’t have done what Carter did. Brooke didn’t like what Ridge said about Hope and told him so. Ridge said he would say the same thing about anyone who tried to steal from them.
Ridge said they needed to find a way to scrub Carter from the LLC. Eric and Ridge lamented about how Carter wanted to change the company into a conglomerate. “A company I don’t even recognize,” Eric added. Eric refused to help Carter accomplish that. Ridge said he and Steffy wouldn’t either. “So you’re just going to abandon the company that you created?” Brooke asked.
Ridge said that Carter was the big boss now, but he could do it without a designer. “I started this company from nothing. I created this company out of thin air,” Eric said. He thought that his legacy was about to disappear. Eric regretted not kicking Carter out of the company when he had betrayed him with Quinn. Ridge promised his dad he would get the company back.
Alone in the living room, Ridge asked Brooke if she saw the toll it had taken on Eric already. He noted that all of this was happening because of her daughter. Brooke said it hurt her too to see them betrayed, but she blamed Carter, not Hope. She said one mistake after another after Steffy fired Hope. She suggested everyone took a breath, stepped back, and then figured out a solution.
Brooke said that even if they reversed the contract, it wouldn’t solve the friction problem. She suggested that Ridge get a hold of his emotions. “My company was just taken from me, you want me to be okay with that?” Ridge bellowed. Brooke told him to be reasonable. “Do you know the last two people who asked me to be reasonable? Carter and Hope,” Ridge snapped. Brooke said she wanted to support him through this, but he couldn’t blame or attack Hope.
