In the CEO’s office, Carter told Steffy she’d presented an interesting offer. Carter, Brooke, and Hope kept asking Steffy if she’d really be willing to answer to them. Steffy said convincingly that she didn’t want to be the CEO who lost her family company and watched it implode. “There’s still so much I want to accomplish, and that will be my legacy, so yes, I’m willing to answer to you. Do we have a deal?” Steffy asked.
Carter, Hope, and Brooke began telling Steffy how well the company was doing without them and the plans they were implementing that she and Ridge had vetoed. Carter bragged that they might be starting a fragrance with the top nose of Paris. “Wow, seems like everything is falling into place,” Steffy mused. “We’d say so. We just needed the naysayers to stop holding us back,” Hope said.
“About that. I’ve had time to think about your expansion plan. I’m beginning to see its merits and possibilities,” Steffy said to Carter. “Oh, now you’re all for it,” Brooke swiped with an eye roll. Steffy said she wanted to help the plan succeed. “Just like that?” Hope asked. Steffy looked at Carter and said that, as President, she would help implement his ideas. “If you want to put our name on the bottle, shouldn’t you have a Forrester backing it?” she asked. Steffy pointed out that Ivy was doing the jewelry line, and Zende was working on HFTF, but the customers would still have questions. “Bring me back, and I guarantee you no one will wonder how the Forresters feel about this takeover,” Steffy told Carter.

Hope kept signaling to Brooke and Carter that she wasn’t okay with Steffy returning. Steffy made another plea, noting that she wasn’t happy about what they did but needed to look out for her financial future. Carter acknowledged that he asked the Forresters to stay on but said they needed to talk about it and would get back to her soon.
After Steffy left, Carter asked Brooke and Hope what they thought of her returning to Forrester. Hope thought it was a ploy. Carter said that Steffy made a point about her legacy and thought that she’d been hearing how awesome everything was, thanks to them. “So you think she regrets leaving?” Brooke asked. Carter thought that was clear; he just wasn’t sure if they could trust her. Hope told him they needed to be cautious, and Carter agreed. “There’s a lot on the line, and the only people I know I can trust right now are in this room,” he said to Hope and Brooke. Hope agreed Steffy made a good pitch but wondered why she was being so accommodating and accepting.
At the Forrester mansion, Ridge, Eric, and Taylor told Zende they didn’t know Steffy’s plan either. Ridge said Steffy was shrewd and dedicated and would try to get the company back. “First things first, she needs to get back to work,” Ridge told everyone. Zende agreed that although Brooke was an effective executive, the clients liked Steffy. Ridge said the hurdle would be getting Hope and Carter to trust Steffy, and they needed to for Steffy’s plan to work.
Eric, Zende, Ridge, and Taylor all speculated how Steffy’s meeting was going at Forrester. Zende said Brooke, Hope, and Carter were smart and wary, but Ridge thought if anyone could convince them to hire her, it was Steffy. Zende told them they wouldn’t take Steffy back if Brooke didn’t agree. Eric and Ridge didn’t understand Brooke anymore and couldn’t guess what she’d think or do. Ridge said Brooke tried telling him she was being CEO for them but he wasn’t buying it. He said Brooke was on the ship and when it was all over, there was no place for her anymore.
Taylor noted they should have heard from Steffy. Just then, she walked in the door. She quickly updated everyone on the meeting. She told them about the pitch she gave to Carter, Hope, and Brooke, and Ridge thought it sounded convincing. Steffy admitted she didn’t know yet whether or not they were going to take her back. Steffy thought they were leaning towards letting her come back. “Once I’m in there and they welcome me back, I can set my plan in motion. They’ll be so busy keeping an eye on me, they’ll never know what hit them,” Steffy said with a smile. “Hope and Carter did this to us, and I’m going to make them pay for stealing our company. It’s only a matter of time before Forrester Creations is ours again,” Steffy added.
Bill saw Luna adjusting her ankle bracelet and told her not to touch it. He reiterated that she had a mansion to live in instead of prison, and Luna told him again how generous he was. “It’s why I wanted you as my father,” she smiled. “I’m not your father; that was a lie,” Bill said firmly. Luna told him that she felt so close to him at the time she felt like his daughter. Bill said he was willing to help her, “but Tom Starr, the man you murdered,” was the only father she’d ever have.
Bill wanted Luna to tell him again how she altered the DNA test to dupe him into thinking he was her father. Bill told her again no more secrets or lies — Tom Starr was her father. Luna told Bill how the idea of Tom being her father put her over the edge, and she was horrified she’d killed him over it. Bill pointed out that she didn’t have to have a relationship with Tom, but Luna said at the time it didn’t feel like that. Luna said it triggered her worst fears about being humiliated and abandoned, and it was like an out-of-body experience.
Bill said a lot of people had those fears, but they didn’t commit murder over it. Luna promised she wasn’t going to disappoint him. She knew he was giving her a second chance and wasn’t going to waste it. Bill wanted to be clear that what she did was not okay and if she had any ideas or goals to become a Spencer, it wasn’t going to happen. After Bill left the room, Luna looked at Will’s photo on the mantle and smiled.
In Li’s office, April asked her again why she wanted Tom’s liver. Li said she had a question that had been haunting her for years and wanted answers. Li asked April to go find a blood sample for her in the lab: Luna Nozawa’s.
Li put her hand on the cooler holding Tom’s liver as she had a flashback to confronting Luna about why she killed Tom. “Is Tom Starr really your father, Luna?” Li mused. April returned with the blood sample and said it was still viable for genetic testing. After April left, Li held the blood and somberly said to herself, “Now I have everything I need to determine if Tom Starr was Luna’s father.”
