The Bold and the Beautiful's Jennifer Gareis devastated by L.A. fires

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Jennifer Gareis plays Donna Logan. Along with tens of thousands of California residents, she is another soap star who has been deeply devastated by the L.A. fires. Gareis shared a horrific update today on her Instagram.

The Bold and the Beautiful star Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan) is a resident of Malibu, an area that was evacuated overnight as the fires raged toward the famous community. She posted an update today with a picture of her and her daughter on the Malibu beach. It sadly read, “I had no idea this past weekend was my last beach walk & sunset in Malibu... at least until we can rebuild the community after this devastating fire. Thank you for your messages. Our home is gone (see picture #3) but we are safe. I pray for all of the families who have lost their homes and memories. Stay safe! #malibufire #pchfire #malibubeach #palisadesfire”

Friends from The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless, and the industry were quick to respond with support and compassion.

Ashley Jones, who plays Gareis’ niece Bridget Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful said, “I am devastated” with broken heart emojis. Jones also shared on her own account footage of driving the Pacific Coast Highway with homes burning as well as helpful maps and contact numbers for those impacted. She noted her concern that she knew so many who were affected by the fires.

Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra on B&B as well as the sister show, The Young and the Restless, offered, “I’m so sorry 😞 I’m glad you’re safe ❤️”

Other cast members of both shows shared information on their accounts of evacuation, shelters, and animal information. Followers from around the world shared their condolences and support for the actress and her family.

Other soap stars affected by the fire

Overnight, Eric Braeden (Victor Newman, Y&R), posted a video showing the fires burning near his home. Braeden captioned the video: “Behind my house! The worst EVER in LA!”

Responding to a supportive message from Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny Corinthos on General Hospital, Braeden said that he would know tomorrow “if we still have a house!” As of this writing, Braeden has not given an update, and his close friend Doug Davidson (Paul Williams, Y&R) posted that he had not yet heard from him.

Meanwhile, Cameron Mathison (Drew Quartermaine, General Hospital) confirmed he had lost his family home. He posted a video of a walk-through of the area, stating, “We are safe. But this is what’s left of our beautiful home. Our home where our kids were raised and where they wanted to raise their own someday. Thanks to all who reached out and checked in. Can’t respond to all so wanted to give an update here. Sending so many prayers to everyone being affected by these fires🙏🏼”
