On The Bold and the Beautiful, Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) has pulled the coup of the century. Not only has he filed the LLC papers, but he marched into Forrester Creations, straight into Ridge and Steffy’s off-- or, should we say Carter’s new office. Yes, that's right: Just as Justin (Aaron D. Spears) was explaining to Eric (John McCook), Steffy (Jacqueline Macinnes Wood), and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) that he had checked over the LLC papers and it was a solid yet unethical move, Carter was now in charge of Forrester Creations.
While most viewers of The Bold and the Beautiful knew that Carter would follow through with filing the papers after being dismissed, it didn’t diminish the drama when Ridge terminated Carter’s job and their friendship. Ridge ordered Carter to get out; he wasn't welcome in their lives, professionally or personally, but Carter came back like a tsunami and told the Forresters he wasn’t going anywhere.
Carter and Hope have ensured that the Forrester vs. Logan war is real. But what happens next? There are only two possibilities: either Carter stays in charge of Forrester Creations, or he doesn’t.

Carter may be able to make good on his threat that Forrester Creations will never be the same again. But to be successful, he will need help from more people than Hope.
Carter may have had some inside help from Justin. After all, there were several days or more between Carter threatening to be fired, filing the papers, and strutting into the office like he owned the place. If Justin didn't take action when he should have, the motivation behind that could be obvious: Justin may have acted on behalf of Dollar Bill Spencer. And is this where Carter could get his new financial backing, assuming he still wants to carry out his dream of expanding Forrester into that global luxury brand he kept talking about?
To stay in charge and prove he’s a worthy leader, Carter's immediate next step must be to take positive control of FC and get it back to business as usual ASAP. To do so, he could fire Steffy and replace her with his ride-or-die Hope (Annika Noelle). He might offer Ridge to stay on as co-CEO with Hope or fire Ridge and replace him with Brooke. But for Brooke to go along with all of it would most likely be at the cost of her relationship with Ridge.
There’s also the assumption that the martyring that Carter has done, throwing his entire life into the pits on behalf of the unspoken majority, actually exists. And the hard-done-by employees of Forrester rise up and rejoice that the leadership of the legendary company has been overthrown. Given the side-eyes Hope got on her way out, Carter and Hope might be a little bit off on their assumptions about that.
Designing the future of The Bold and the Beautiful
Alternatively, Carter might be firmly planted in the CEO’s office, thanks to Justin’s legal advice, but there could be some viable solutions.
The Forresters could get a second opinion: Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) years of corporate lawyering or Christine Williams' (Lauralee Bell) impeccable record for saving the day could be a fun twist, creating another Y&R crossover — and Danny Romalotti could sing about it afterward. But really, Michael, Christine, or any lawyer for that matter, questioning why Justin didn’t prevent the paperwork from being filed seems like a good place to start.
The Forrester Board of Directors could vote to overturn the decision, or maybe there’s a clause somewhere that states if a coup were to happen, all power or decisions are automatically revoked and given to Eric, RJ, or someone who would protect Eric’s legacy. Surely the former company attorney, Carter, would have thought of that years ago and put a clause in somewhere? If that were to come back and bite him now, it could be a hilarious act of karma that he forgot he could have seen coming.
Seriously though, even if Carter could legally keep his seat at the CEO's desk, Eric and Ridge would have been in the industry long enough to have some pull. If they worried that firing the daughter of Brooke Logan would have a ripple effect on the industry, what would happen if word got out about what Carter did to Eric? They could get all buyers to cease participating in making the company money with just a few phone calls. If all the talent leaves the company, who does Carter have? Hope is not a designer, nor does she know how to viably make her own line succeed, much less run an international company.
From what we were shown, the takeover was an impulsive decision. Carter spent years on an expansion idea that couldn’t get approval. Maybe this isn’t as rock-solid as Justin has claimed.
What we do know for sure is that Aaron D. Spears (Justin) will be back on The Bold and the Beautiful next week for several episodes. Maybe he’ll have a solution by then — or reveal if he has had other intentions all along.
