DVR Alert! Airing of The Bold and the Beautiful will be disrupted on Monday, January 20th (as well as The Young and the Restless and General Hospital) as news coverage will follow the presidential inauguration. New episodes for all three shows will resume on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. As Days of our Lives streams on Peacock, its regular schedule will not be disrupted.

Why The Bold and the Beautiful won't air on Monday

Although the swearing-in ceremony does not begin until noon ET, network coverage on CBS will be following the historic day’s events. As a result, The Bold and the Beautiful will be pre-empted on Monday, January 20, 2025.

CBS News journalists will join multiple platforms throughout the day to provide coverage of the presidential inauguration. They will stream wherever CBS News 24/7 is distributed, including the CBS News app, CBSNews.com, YouTube, social platforms, Paramount+, and Pluto.

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful will not have missed an episode; the show will pause its schedule and pick up where it left off on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

CBS coverage of the presidential inauguration

In a press release, CBS News detailed:

CBS News 24/7 Coverage Begins Streaming at 6:00 a.m., ET

CBS News will deliver special coverage of the presidential inauguration of Donald J. Trump across all shows and platforms. Coverage begins on Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, on CBS News 24/7 at 6:00 a.m. ET, anchored by Errol Barnett, and on the CBS Television Network at 7:00 a.m. ET, with a special edition of CBS MORNINGS anchored by Gayle King, Tony Dokoupil and Nate Burleson from Washington, DC.

Beginning at 9:00 a.m., ET, Norah O’Donnell will anchor the all-day coverage on the CBS Television Network and streaming on CBS News 24/7, continuing until at least 5:00 p.m., ET. CBS News journalists will join the coverage throughout the day.

CBS News journalists will also report from around the country on how the new administration’s policies on the economy, inflation, safety, reproductive rights, and more will affect everyday Americans.

CBS News’ inauguration coverage will stream wherever CBS News 24/7 is distributed, including the CBS News app, CBSNews.com, YouTube, social platforms, Paramount+ and Pluto. CBSNews.com will live-blog Inauguration Day, and CBS News journalists will create original explainers and analysis for social media platforms throughout the week.

CBS Newspath will deliver around-the-clock coverage of the inauguration to 200+ stations, affiliates, and clients. Jarred Hill and Erica Brown will lead coverage in the days leading up to and after Inauguration Day, and Natalie Brand will report from the inaugural parade route. CBS Newspath desk teams will provide live feeds of the day’s events and facilitate up-to-the-minute cuts and sound for all CBS News platforms.

Regularly scheduled episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful can be viewed weekdays on CBS and streamed live and on-demand on Paramount Plus.
