On The Bold and the Beautiful, Remy Pryce (Christian Weissmann) made a sly entrance. While viewers first saw his character as an unknown male with obsession — and seemingly vengeance — regarding Electra Forrester (Laneya Grace), it didn’t take long to realize that the apparent good friend from back home was actually a danger.

Meanwhile, Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) has been a loyal, honest employee at Forrester Creations for years — until he recently stole the company. Carter may have made some mistakes over the years, and Remy certainly seems dangerous, but the actors who portray them say their characters might have more in common than we think.

On The Bold and the Beautiful, Christian Weissman’s Remy Pryce is a “really complex character,” the actor told TV Insider. While Weissmann noted that viewers would know at first glance that Remy was obsessed with Electra, he felt he had to find an empathetic point of view to be able to connect to the character.

“He’s someone who has been neglected and isolated, and a large part of his life has never really seen by his family or his friends, so when he has these impulsive moments of lashing out or doing bad things, he is just a hurt kid deep down and he doesn’t know how to place his emotions,” Weissmann explained about Remy.

For now, his creative energy is being put into Remy, which suits him just fine. “I just love being able to work on a show where they’re pushing boundaries, and I feel with Remy’s storyline, we’re really getting to cover something that doesn’t get talked about a lot,” Weissmann reflects. “With Remy and Electra and Will, there’s just so much excitement and the stakes just keep getting raised. It’s unique to anything I’ve ever done before, and as an actor, it’s such a fun challenge.”

Carter came into his own in the last few months, emerging from corporate COO to overtaking the company. With a new relationship with Hope (Annika Noelle) and expanding Forrester Creations into a global luxury brand, Carter’s life became more complicated overnight. But the actor who portrays him, Lawrence Saint-Victor, says he’d be open to more.

Saint-Victor shared with SheKnows that he’d given some thought to who Carter was and how he could envision his story to be written. “This is just me. Just fan fiction. But I would love to get into Carter’s family life and explore why is he the way he is. He presents himself as so good and so earnest and so perfect, but then when he’s in these relationships, it almost looks like he’s trying too hard,” Saint-Victor shared.

The actor explained, “It makes me wonder what is broken inside of him that he feels like he to work so hard to be good. That has to come from his family. When I first came on the show, Texas Battle played Carter’s adopted brother, Marcus. In my mind, there’s a reason why Marcus went to L.A. to find his biological parents, and when he found Donna, allowed Eric to adopt him and took the last name Forrester. It felt like there was something that he was getting away from.”

Because of the character of Marcus and how Carter has behaved so opposite to who he believes he is, Saint-Victor added, “I feel like there’s something in Carter and Marcus’ home life that was incredibly toxic, and for one son, it made him flee to find his ‘real’ family, and for the other son, it just made him believe, ‘Well, if get straight As, if I get my law degree, if I do everything right, then maybe I’ll deserve love or happiness.’ It’s all about deserving for Carter, so I would love to dive into his history and find out exactly why he is the way he is.”

While the two characters of Remy and Carter couldn’t be more polar opposites on the surface, it’s an interesting take by their actors that they could share a deep-rooted similarity stemming from their childhoods. Either — or both — would be potential growth for their characters if their histories became part of the present-day storylines for fans to enjoy on The Bold and the Beautiful.
