At Forrester, Ridge kept texting Steffy, even though he hadn’t heard back from her. R.J. was sure she would respond eventually. Ridge paced with his phone in hand, and R.J. remarked that staring at it wouldn’t make Steffy respond faster. R.J. joked that she’d walk through the door at any moment, complaining about them not working on the collection.
R.J. admitted that Steffy going MIA was unusual. He wondered if Finn had heard from her yet. Ridge said they’d hear from her soon. Ridge claimed that one of his proudest moments had been making Steffy co-CEO of the company. He asked if R.J. knew that she’d once wanted to be a DJ. He said he'd hated it, but she was good at everything she did. R.J. couldn’t imagine Steffy being anywhere else. Ridge said what he needed most was for her to be okay.
At Bill’s house, Finn spoke about Steffy, saying her actions weren’t like her at all, and something had to be wrong. Bill returned to the room after helping Luna with the television in her room. Bill said he wouldn’t turn his back on Luna and had to be especially cautious. Finn asked why that would be and if more was going on with Luna, who didn’t seem herself. Finn said she was different, and something was off. With one look at Bill, Finn assumed he was right.
Bill confided something in Finn that he hadn’t planned to tell anyone: Luna had kissed him. He’d handled it and made it clear that she couldn’t do it. Finn asked if she’d explained herself. After all Luna was going through, Bill didn’t think an explanation was needed. Luna was dealing with complex emotions and was in freefall, so he believed she was grasping for something to hold onto.

Still uneasy about it, Finn said Bill and Luna had been forming a bond as parent and child. Bill replied that he’d been more shocked than Finn was, and that was why he’d offered to get her professional help. He’d thought Luna had understood that the kiss was inappropriate, but then she’d kissed him again. “She kissed you twice?” Finn asked.
Finn insisted that it was unlike Luna, but Bill said her life had drastically changed. After she’d finally gotten stability, it had been pulled from under her. Bill didn’t think she should be alone. He added that her apartment building was being demolished, so he couldn’t just put her out.
Wanting to get back to his problem, Finn said Bill and Liam might have been the last people to see Steffy. Bill didn’t think anything sinister was going on. Finn’s phone chimed. He was confused, wondering how it was possible that a child’s walkie-talkie app had just paired to Steffy’s phone. Bill said it meant the phone had to be there.
Bill urged Finn to try the walkie-talkie, but when he did, neither of them heard anything. Bill remembered that Steffy had put her purse in the foyer upon her arrival. When Finn went there, he found Steffy’s phone on an accent table by the front door. Steffy’s phone was on “Do Not Disturb.” Bill didn’t want Finn to jump to conclusions.
Finn said Steffy wouldn’t leave town without her phone. He shared that Steffy had also missed her reservation at the clinic overseas. Bill offered to put his best people on it, but all Finn wanted Bill to do was to watch Luna.
Later, Finn was at the hospital in his lab coat. He met urgently with Li, telling her that he couldn’t shake the feeling that Luna had something to do with Steffy’s disappearance. Li asked what was going on. Finn described how Luna had been behaving with Bill when she hadn’t known Finn was at the house. It had been as if he had never been her father, and she wanted to be the new woman in his life. Li scoffed in disbelief.
Finn said a switch had flipped when Luna had seen him there. Finn insisted that Luna was different, and it wasn’t about Poppy’s arrest. He noted that Steffy’s last appearance had been at Bill’s house, where Luna had been living for months.
Finn asked if Li really believed Poppy had committed the murders. Li didn’t. He asked who else would benefit the most from the men being gone. “Luna,” he stated, having a sick feeling that Luna was involved in Steffy’s disappearance. Finn needed to find Steffy, and he wouldn’t give up.
In the cage, Steffy awakened to Luna towering over her. Weak, Steffy asked Luna to help her. Luna didn’t plan to lose the life she’d made for herself. She said no one would stop her—not Tom, Hollis, or her mom. “Definitely not you, Steffy,” Luna added.
Steffy asked if Luna would really leave her mother in jail that way. Steffy asked about R.J., who was happy to be with Luna. Luna replied that he was a sweet boy, but just a boy. She chuckled, saying she’d had the best sex of her life not too long ago, but it had been with Zende, not R.J.
Steffy asked what Luna was talking about. Luna remembered that Steffy didn’t know about Luna’s “accidental” night in bed with Zende, which, in actuality, Luna had planned perfectly. Luna said she’d gotten away with it, and she’d get away with “this.”
Luna gloated about R.J. falling for her story that Poppy and her drugs had been the reason she’d wound up in his cousin’s bed. It had been the best sex she’d ever had, and R.J. and Zende had both believed her story. She said she hadn’t even been on drugs, and Zende had been perfect for the part she’d needed him to play.
Steffy assumed Luna had used those drugs to kill Hollis and her father. Luna insisted that she wouldn’t let "that loser rock star" be her father. Luna felt she’d had to get rid of anyone who’d gotten in the way of what she’d deserved. She believed she deserved a man who was rich, powerful, and sexy. “And that man is Bill Spencer,” Luna concluded.
Steffy was disgusted that Luna had pretended to be drugged so she could sleep with her boyfriend’s cousin. Luna was a murderer framing her mother. Luna replied that Steffy hadn’t known what it had been like for Luna to live with “Poppy the Free Spirit,” “Poppy the Pill Popper.” Poppy had dragged Luna from town to town, knowing how much Luna had hated it. As a child, Luna hadn’t been able to do anything about it.
Steffy figured Luna had had a chance as a Forrester intern to change her life. Agreeing, Luna stated that it had all started with her plan to make Bill Spencer her father. Luna made a face, saying she hadn’t meant for her real father to show up. She’d had to get rid of him and Hollis. Poppy had been the perfect suspect. Steffy noted that Poppy had been arrested, prompting Bill to take another paternity test. Luna said it was then that she’d had to change tactics.
Luna stated that Bill had seen her as his daughter, but he’d soon see her as the much-younger woman in his life. Steffy said Bill would never fall for it, but Luna refused to give up at that point. She asserted that she’d live with Bill while Steffy rotted in the cage until the building got demolished. “With you in it,” Luna added, smiling.
Steffy yelled at Luna, ordering Luna to get her out of there "now."
