On The Bold and the Beautiful, Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) has had an epiphany: If he’s not changing it, he’s choosing it. It was a big day in the fashion world, as Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), at Carter’s urging (Lawrence Saint-Victor), made a social media announcement that she was returning to her role as CEO of Forrester Creations.
The moment it was announced, Ridge was devastated. How could Brooke do that to him, do that to his Dad, and how could she do that to Forrester Creations?

After the announcement, Ridge was alone with Taylor (Rebecca Budig), and she was doing her best to comfort him. Taylor said (as she has told him many times) that hurting him is just what Brooke does. It was at that moment that Ridge realized that while what Taylor was saying was true, he always went back — and that was on him. Ridge admitted that he always made an excuse to go back to Brooke, and at some point, he had to wise up and realize only he could change that. He made the choices. Ridge told Taylor, “ Maybe you were right all along.”
Now, because the left hand never seems to know what the right hand is doing in Brooke and Ridge's relationship, Brooke has told an enraged Zende (Delon De Metz) that she actually has a plan to get Forrester Creations back for Ridge. But instead of sharing that plan with the Forresters, Brooke let them find out she was taking over as CEO of their company, making it look like she had taken Carter and Hope's side.
Unfortunately, the situation looks exactly as it is being presented: That Brooke was so flattered by Carter's offer that she couldn't help but go along with it and be easily led into one of the most damning decisions she’s made in 2024.
Brooke could have passed to call the Forresters, especially Ridge or Eric, and told them that Carter was offering her the CEO position, but she planned to use it to their advantage to try to get Forrester Creations back to them. By not saying anything, the plan was over before it began.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure
The announcement of Brooke's return to her role as CEO was a real blow to Ridge. He’s being consoled by Taylor, and you know what that means. Going back to Brooke isn't the only pattern Ridge is guilty of staying in. Between their make-ups and break-ups, Ridge and Taylor also reunite.
This time, reeling from what he thinks is Brooke's betrayal, Ridge and Taylor make it to his bedroom in the Forrester Mansion while Brooke is at the front door. Although Brooke is banging on the door, calling out, ”Ridge, I need to talk to you," history would tell us that she will walk in, proceed to the bedroom, and find Ridge with Taylor. But will they be in bed? Or will Brooke use her superpowers of eavesdropping to hear him say it's over between them? Or, because history repeats itself, will Brooke simply misunderstand what is going on between Ridge and Taylor?
Communication could have prevented almost everything thus far, but that's just crazy talk on our favorite soap. After finding Ridge with Taylor, Brooke laments how he could have given her the benefit of the doubt and blames him for doing what he always does and running to Taylor. If Brooke feels betrayed, she will most likely head back to Forrester and forget all about whatever plan she'd claimed to have to save the company. Instead, she'll firmly plant herself alongside Carter and Hope and validate the takeover.
The Forresters will have to revisit their plan of letting Carter and Hope fail independently. With Brooke as CEO, they cannot simply sit by anymore and wait. If they want their company back, action will be required. Will Brooke's relationship with Ridge not be the only collateral damage? Will she be permanently out of the Forrester family? And will that draw Brooke and Carter closer as the weeks go on?
