At Li’s office, April, the lab technician, brought in a file for Li. They were discussing the last of the organ donors that weren’t a match for anyone and were to be destroyed. As Poppy came in, she heard them mention Tom’s name. She asked why as Li snapped that the remains of Luna’s father would be gone by the end of the day.

“Why are you here, Poppy? I’m very busy,” Li sighed, annoyed. Poppy brought her donuts, but Li shut her out. Poppy questioned what she had done now to upset her. Li laid into her the way Luna was raised without structure. “You turned that girl into a double murderer,” Li snarled.

Li told Poppy that her stubbornness prevented anyone else from helping her as Luna was growing up. She continued to tell Poppy what a horrible mom she was, and Poppy agreed that her priorities were skewed back then. Li told her that Luna suffered because of her parenting, and Poppy got upset. “You don’t think that I don’t beat myself up over it every day? Your child is a doctor! My child is a killer!” Poppy cried. She said that berating her just made her feel worse than she already did. “But that’s the point, isn’t it? The cruelty is the point,” Poppy realized. “Ah, Penelope,” Li sighed, shaking her head condescendingly.

Poppy told her sister that she was mean to her long before Luna ever committed her crimes and wanted to know why. “I don’t trust you. I have never trusted you,” Li seethed. Li said Poppy had never given her a reason to trust her. “All these years and I’m still trying to win your approval. I’m your sister,” Poppy began. “Then act like it,” Li snapped. She told Poppy that she was always putting men first, before her own daughter.

Poppy cried that she was a single mom trying to make ends meet. “Doing what, exactly?” Li asked. Poppy said she was waitressing and making jewelry but Li told her she chased after wealthy men. “That’s why they believed Bill was Luna’s father, remember that whole fiasco?” Li snapped. Poppy insisted it wasn’t her fault and noted that Luna had switched the tests. “Of course she did. She wanted a father who was wealthy. Wonder where she learned that?” Li retorted. Poppy sadly said that Tom Starr was Luna’s father but Li questioned if she was sure about that. “Given the way you slept around, could it be possible that someone else is her father?” Li accused. Poppy cried that she was overwhelmed, and feeling like she was drowning. She said that Tom was dead and Luna was in prison and asked her sister never to bring it up again. Li stared at her coldly as Poppy jumped up, grabbed the box of donuts off of Li’s desk, and bolted out of her office.

After Poppy left, Li called April and asked if the unused organs had been sent out yet, but April told her not all of them had been. At Li’s request, she checked that Tom’s liver was still there, and Li asked her to bring it to her office. April brought a cooler with Tom's liver to Li’s office. She asked what she wanted it for, and Li said she was going to look into something and get the answers that she had needed for years.

At Bill’s house, Luna looked at a photo of Will on the mantle and smiled. Bill came in and reminded her that she had to wear the ankle bracelet 24/7 and that her presence was a secret. Luna assured him she knew how lucky she was and that she would never forgive herself for the pain she had caused by taking two men’s lives. She said she couldn’t stop thinking about Hollis’ family and what she must have put them through.

Bill blamed her lack of coping skills on bad parenting and blamed her mom for who Luna was. Bill told Luna that he understood her in a way that no one else could and that’s why he wanted to give her another chance at a normal, healthy, good life. Bill wanted to believe that Luna was going to change for the better.

Luna told him that she knew she had been given an unbelievable opportunity and that she would make the most of it. Luna wanted to talk about when they thought she was his daughter. She said it felt like a dream come true, but Bill said she manufactured that dream. Luna admitted she was embarrassed that she was willing to go to such unspeakable lengths to be his daughter. She said she knew it was wrong, but at the time, she couldn’t live with the thought of Tom Starr being her father.

In the Forrester living room, Taylor and Ridge drank coffee as Eric read the newspaper. “Taylor, I want to ask you something. Are you aware your car spent the night here?” Eric teased. Steffy walked in the front door and told her parents she was happy for them reconnecting and that Ridge leaving Brooke was the best thing he ever did.

Zende joined in and congratulated Ridge and Taylor as well. Steffy announced that today was the day she would return to Forrester Creations. After Steffy left, Zende asked what was going on. Eric assured him that Steffy had a plan. Taylor admitted they weren’t sure what the plan was, but it started with Steffy going back to work.

Zende showed his designs to Eric and Ridge for feedback on his designs, like he would have if they were at the office. Taylor thought they’d be back at Forrester soon. Ridge wondered if Carter and Hope would let Steffy back in, but Eric was confident she could work her magic on them.

Zende said he was feeling caught in the middle and struggling with his decision to keep working there. He was thrilled to be head designer for Hope for the Future, but every day, he wondered if he was selling out. Ridge assured him they needed him at Forrester, and Taylor suggested he might be able to help Steffy. “How can I help Steffy if I don’t even know what her plan is?” Zende wondered.

In the CEO’s office, Carter and Hope told Brooke that they were excited for her to meet Daphne Rose so they could work out a deal. Brooke was distracted and said she was thinking about Ridge. Brooke apologized for being unprofessional, but Carter acknowledged she was dealing with a lot, and it was hard to leave it at the door. Brooke told them that Ridge had fully committed himself to Taylor.

Hope thought Steffy must be happy about her parents being back together. Brooke agreed Steffy was probably dancing in the streets of Beverly Hills about it. Steffy walked into the office and said they needed to talk. “As much as I’m upset about what you’ve done, I’m still a big shareholder here. I still need to protect my investments,” she said. Brooke asked what she meant, so Steffy said she was returning to work at Forrester.

Steffy reminded them that Carter said she was welcome to stay on board. She said that she had felt hurt and betrayed and still did, as did her whole family. “I said a lot of things out of rage, and I know I said I wouldn’t step foot inside Forrester Creations. I’m actually shocked that I’m here,” Steffy added. “Yes, you are here. Asking for a job. Why the change of heart, Steffy?” Hope sighed. She asked Steffy what was really going on.

“I will never feel humiliated stepping inside this building. I walked in today past the Forrester sign with my head held high,” Steffy told Hope. “Glad to know you feel so comfortable here,” Hope said with a hint of snideness. Carter chimed in and asked if she was aware that things were different there. “You’re answering to Brooke and me…and Hope at times, too,” Carter said. “It’s not the ideal situation. Things kind of exploded when I was CEO, but like I said, I love this company. It’s more important than my pride and my ego,” Steffy told him. Hope frowned and looked at Carter. “I’m willing to sacrifice anything for it, even my dignity, if that’s what it takes,” Steffy added.

Brooke asked what position Steffy wanted to have. Steffy said since Brooke was the new CEO, she could be President. “President,” Hope repeated with raised eyebrows. Steffy explained to Carter that he would still be in charge of the LLC and she would answer to him. “I’ll give you my opinion and tell you what is on my mind, but I won’t be a problem. You won’t have any issues with me,” Steffy assured Carter. Hope asked why they should trust her. “I want our children to work here one day. I want this company to be around for generations,” Steffy replied. She told them she had the experience and was close with the clients. She said she could do the job well and help lead Forrester Creations in the right direction. “What do you say, do we have a deal?” Steffy asked hopefully, looking at Carter.
