Ashleigh Brewer's upcoming return to The Bold and the Beautiful

On The Bold and the Beautiful, the role of Ivy Forrester is being reprised by Ashleigh Brewer.

Although her storyline has yet to be revealed, Ivy has a memorable past with several characters on the show. A member of the prominent Forrester family, Ivy is the niece of family patriarch Eric Forrester and the daughter of his brother, John.

The role was originated by the Australian actress in 2014. Four years later, Brewer left The Bold and the Beautiful. She joined the cast of Home and Away later that year and played the role of Chelsea Campbell.

Ashleigh Brewer came to The Bold and the Beautiful from Down Under

Ashleigh Brewer was born and raised in Brisbane, Australia. One week after graduating from college in 2008, she moved to Melbourne and auditioned for the role of Kate Ramsay in the long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours.

Brewer was roommates with her Neighbours co-star, Margot Robbie. The two are still friends, and Brewer appeared in Robbie's megahit Barbie in 2023 as Totally Hair Barbie (uncredited).

Robbie influenced Brewer's decision to leave The Bold and the Beautiful in 2018. Brewer told the Melbourne Herald Sun at the time that after ten years of doing soaps, she wanted to try other genres. She credited Robbie for encouraging her to make herself available to other opportunities. "I'm doing the acting thing in L.A., onwards and upwards," Brewer said.

In addition to doing a six-month stint on Home and Away, Brewer appeared in My Dinner with Hervé, Lovestruck, and a short film called At the Edge of Night in 2020.

Ashleigh Brewer's return as Ivy Forrester

Fans of The Bold and the Beautiful were treated to a quick return of Ashleigh Brewer at the end of April this year. At the time, she hinted that her character, Ivy, was laying some groundwork for a longer return.

Brewer told Soaps.com at the time, "I don't want to give too much away, but what I can say is that Ivy is back and on a mission. She knows what she wants, and she is back to map a plan."

Scott Clifton, who plays Liam Spencer, also told Soaps.com that he saw a possible pairing of Ivy and Liam together again as a positive. "What makes Ivy unique with respect to Liam is that she has this sort of singular experience of him. She's only seen the good side, not the side that Steffy and Hope have seen so much of. So Ivy knows a different Liam than everybody else on the canvas."

Ivy is Liam's ex-wife, although it was a brief marriage. His other ex-wives, Hope (Annika Noelle) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), might not be as keen on reuniting the couple. When Ivy last lived in L.A., Hope was still a relatively "good" girl. But lately, she hasn't been afraid of going after what (and who) she wants. Ivy might be in for a challenge if Hope wants Liam for herself.

Ivy's cousin Steffy might encourage a relationship between Ivy and Liam this time around, though, especially if it is upsetting to Hope.

Working with Ashleigh Brewer on The Bold and the Beautiful

When Ashleigh Brewer left the show in 2018, Soap Opera Digest reported that cast members noted how much she would be missed. Thorsten Kaye, who plays Ridge Forrester, compared her to a young Elizabeth Taylor and commented on how talented she was. Kaye said, "She's one of those people you want to have in your cast because she's always so positive and so kind and so nice."

Clifton said that although they were able to travel and do fun scenes together as co-stars, he enjoyed working with her for other reasons. "She just had this energy that was so fun and she's such a kind person. She really cares about people and being around her just makes you happy. I just really enjoyed hanging out with her because of who she is," Clifton added.
