It's no dream: Patrick Duffy to reprise role as B&B's Stephen Logan

Patrick Duffy is set to reprise his role as the Logan family patriarch next month. It's been more than a decade since Duffy last appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful, and when he does return, he won't be showing up alone.

No, it's not a dream. Patrick Duffy is set to reprise the role of Stephen Logan on The Bold and the Beautiful next month. It's been eleven years since the Dallas actor last appeared on the long-running CBS soap.

B&B hasn't revealed exactly what brings Stephen back onto the canvas, but People reports that Duffy will be joined on-screen by real-life girlfriend, Linda Purl. Purl recently wrapped up a short-term stint as Peyton Honeycutt on ABC's General Hospital.

Duffy first appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2006, taking over the role that had previously been played by Robert Pine from 1998 to 2001. Stephen returned to Los Angeles after seeing Ridge in Paris. In the years that followed, Stephen became romantically involved with Brooke Logan's (Katherine Kelly Lang) nemesis Taylor Hayes (then played by Hunter Tylo), and, later, in an act of revenge for the death of his ex-wife, Beth (Robin Riker), he seduced Stephanie Forrester's (Susan Flannery) sister Pamela Douglas (Alley Mills). Stephen and Pam eventually got engaged, but he ended things in 2011 and moved to... wait for it... Dallas.

Patrick Duffy is, of course, best known for playing Bobby Ewing on the primetime drama Dallas. One of the most talked-about moments in television history involved Duffy's alter ego. In the 1986 season finale of Dallas, Bobby, who had been killed off on-screen a year earlier, showed up alive and well in the shower. It was later revealed that the entire previous season of the show was a dream. After appearing on Dallas, Duffy starred as Frank Lambert on the sitcom Step by Step from 1991 to 1998. His voice-over work includes appearances on Family Guy and Justice League. Other television projects include Touched by an Angel and the TNT revival of Dallas. Prior to Dallas, he starred on the series Man from Atlantis.

Duffy is currently scheduled to appear in two episode of B&B that will air on November 23 and November 28. There are no further details on what brings Stephen back to the canvas, so be sure to check back with Soap Central for updates.
