The Bold and the Beautiful's Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy Forrester) opens up about the delicate way she handled a real-life pregnancy during one of the most turbulent storylines of her career.
Last year was extremely tough for The Bold and the Beautiful's Steffy Forrester, who devastatingly found herself addicted to opioids. The extremely emotional material has garnered portrayer Jacqueline MacInnes Wood her second Daytime Emmy Award win in the Outstanding Lead Actress category, and interestingly enough, it was also her second time tackling a very intense storyline while pregnant.
In an interview that aired on Hallmark's Home & Family, Wood -- who also won the Lead Actress category in 2019 -- opened up about the difficulties of acting out incredibly tense drama while trying to keep calm and nurture a baby growing inside of her.
"It was tough. I thought about, 'How am I going to execute this storyline?'" the actress shares. "But it was an important story to tell. And it's amazing what women can do with our bodies! I was very present in those scenes, but I was also very protective of that area, I was very mindful of that area. So, I was giving everything I could, but again, moms do it all the time! It's been a very stressful year, so you just make it work."

The Daytime Emmy Awards don't air until Friday, June 25, but a lot of soap fans have the feeling that Wood will take home the gold in her category for the powerful scenes in which Steffy admits that she is an addict. Her performance was incredibly vulnerable and honest, which the actress says was thanks in part to her wonderful B&B colleagues.
"It was a very intense day, and I couldn't have done it without my cast," she recalls. "I was really just putting myself in those shoes, so of course, it was going to be emotional."
Even if Wood hadn't won the Emmy for her work during Steffy's addiction storyline, she says that she's beyond grateful that the show was "able to bring awareness" and tell the addiction story. "It is so, so important."
