The Bold and the Beautiful's Courtney Hope wins video game award

Courtney Hope (Sally Spectra, The Bold and the Beautiful) has taken Control of the gaming world, winning top honors in the Best Acting in a Game category at the New York Video Game Awards.

When it comes to the game of love, The Bold and the Beautiful's Sally Spectra isn't doing so well. But if she were to suddenly throw her talents into playing video games instead, she'd probably rock it. Oh, wait, that statement is actually more apt for her portrayer, Courtney Hope, who just rocked it on the gaming scene by winning the Best Acting in a Game award at the New York Video Game Awards.

Hope took home the top honors for her performance in the game Control, where she voices the character Jesse Faden. The actress wasn't in attendance at the ceremony in NYC, but she was able to accept her award via a video acceptance speech that was played in her absence.

"Hi, everyone! I am so bummed that I am not there, but I would love to thank the New York Game critics for this incredible honor. This is so cool!" she says. "I'd love to thank God; I want to thank [lead writer] Sam Lake for trusting me with his incredible, insane vision and for trusting me to be your Jesse; I want to thank 505 Games and the entire Control Remedy team for all of your hard work and dedication and for allowing me to walk on this journey with you."

Hope continues, "I want to thank my friends, my family, and my boyfriend [Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos, General Hospital)] for your boundless support, always, [and] the fans for your support and continuing to play this game and to fight for the truth. So, in honor of Jessie, I would love to say: stay weird, stay curious, and always stay in pursuit of the truth. Thank you."

Hope also took to Twitter with the news of her award, writing, "Thank you guys! Everyone involved made this happen and I am beyond grateful!"

Control is an action-adventure game that revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), a secret U.S. government agency tasked with containing and studying phenomena which violate the laws of reality. Players take on the character of the Bureau's new director, Jesse Faden (Hope), and explore the Oldest House -- the FBC's paranormal New York headquarters -- and utilize powerful abilities in order to defeat a deadly enemy known only as the Hiss, which has invaded and corrupted reality.

Control was released on August 27, 2019, for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Hope announced her participation in the game back in July, shortly before she made a guest-starring appearance on The Price is Right.
