B&B's Jennifer Gareis on her return as Donna's home-wrecking potential

The Bold and the Beautiful's Jennifer Gareis opens up about the special situation that prompted her full-time return as Donna Logan.

The canvas of The Bold and the Beautiful hasn't felt complete since Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan; ex-Grace Turner, The Young and the Restless) took a step back from the CBS soap opera a couple of years ago to focus on raising her children, eight-year-old Gavin and six-year-old Sophia. But she's back to the series she originally joined back in 2006, and all is finally right with the B&B world. As it turns out, one special moment led to the Pennsylvania native's return to the series under contract.

Around the time she was sending Sophia off for her first day of kindergarten, Gareis made a short return appearance for a B&B wedding. While at the studio, she popped in to see executive producer and head writer Bradley Bell, "just to say hi," and his response was: "'Jenny! What's your schedule like?'"

At the time, she wasn't sure where the conversation would lead, but she tells Soaps In Depth that her hopes began to rise when her scenes at Katie's (Heather Tom) wedding included a sentimental flashback of Eric (John McCook) and Donna's relationship.

"That wasn't originally in the script," she reveals, adding that Bell eventually asked her to come back full time in order to throw a wrench into Eric's relationship with Quinn (Rena Sofer).

"It's like the stars aligned," Gareis enthuses. "The timing couldn't have been more perfect."
