Rome Flynn (ex-Zende Forrester) made a splash in the final minutes of How to Get Away with Murder's season finale. Now it looks like he'll be making even more waves when the series returns in the fall.
It may have been seen as widely expected because of the hype around his top-secret appearance in the ABC series' season finale, but there is now official confirmation that The Bold and the Beautiful alum Rome Flynn (ex-Zende Forrester) has joined the cast of How to Get Away with Murder as a series regular.
There isn't a whole lot known about Flynn's HTGAWM character other than his name -- Gabriel Maddox. Oh, and he's apparently someone's son. Right. Because that wasn't something that we could already figure out. The whose son he is part of that equation could make for some serious fireworks in the drama's fifth season.
"Obviously [Gabriel's identity] is a big mystery," says How to Get Away with Murder showrunner Peter Nowalk. "We're hinting that it's Bonnie's kid. All we know is that Frank called someone and said, "Her kid's here." That pronoun, her, covers a lot of our characters, and maybe characters we don't know. We don't know who Frank is talking to, so that's really a huge mystery for the next season... If it's Bonnie, the question is: Does she know? Or does she not know? I think her reaction will come from there. But all of these questions are things that I want people to think about, and just ponder over the hiatus."

When asked for details about his How to Get Away with Murder role on the red carpet at this year's Daytime Emmys, Flynn also had very little in the way of details. You can check out the entire interview at the end of the article.
Flynn took home a Daytime Emmy earlier this year in the Outstanding Younger Actor category for his work on The Bold and the Beautiful. Flynn joined B&B in June 2015 and exited the series in September 2017. His alter ego, Zende, has been said to be working abroad, which presumably left the door open for Flynn to return to the soap or to buy the show time to mull a possible recast.
Deadline first reported the news of Flynn's status with the drama series.
