Former daytime star Peter Brown (ex-Blake Hayes, The Bold and the Beautiful; ex-Robert Laurence, The Young and the Restless; ex-Greg Peters, Days of our Lives) has died.
Daytime alum Peter Brown -- known for his roles as Blake Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful, Robert Laurence on The Young and the Restless, and Greg Peters on Days of our Lives -- passed away from undisclosed causes on March 21. The actor was 80.
Brown got his start in the entertainment industry by organizing a theater group while he was stationed in Alaska for the US Army. He later enrolled in an acting program at UCLA, which eventually landed him several jobs in western action/comedy series like Lawman, Laredo, Sugarfoot, Maverick, and Wagon Train.
When his contract with Universal Pictures expired in the early 70s, Brown made the switch to soap operas with his first major daytime role being DAYS' Greg Peters, which he played from 1972 to 1978. Following his Salem stint, the New York native starred in several television shows, including Generations. He then landed the role of Y&R's Robert Laurence, which he played from 1989 to 1991, and then B&B's Blake Hayes, which he played from 1991 to 1992. He also had short roles on One Life to Live (Charles Sanders), Dallas (Tom Flintoff), and Loving (Roger Forbes).
Brown is survived by his wife, Kerstin, and his two sons, Matthew and Joshua.
