Former The Bold and the Beautiful star Betty White had already won the hearts of America -- but now she has the hardware to make it official.
It's been obvious for quite some time that Betty White (ex-Ann Douglas, The Bold and the Beautiful) is a television icon, but now the former Golden Girls actress has it in writing: she was officially named Favorite TV Icon during Tuesday's People's Choice awards.
The 93-year-old was escorted to the stage by Captain America star Chris Evans (who took home the award for Favorite Action Movie Actor), where she thanked the crowd and of course made a few jokes. "When Melissa McCarthy came up, the first guest tonight, came up on stage and she said she'd stay with us as long as you'd let her, well, you've abused the privilege with me," she quipped. "Can you imagine, the People's Choice, at 93? I mean, that's ridiculous! But oh, thank you with all my heart. Thank you."
What do you think of White receiving the honor of Favorite TV Icon? Who else do you think could have been worthy of the award? You can share your thoughts in our Comments section below or on our message boards, or you can also click here to submit feedback.
