The Bold and the Beautiful is poised to break ground by doing a location shoot in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
The world's most-watched soap opera is about to break new ground. The Bold and the Beautiful will go on location for a shoot in the United Arab Emirates next month. It's the first time a daytime drama will be filmed in the Middle Eastern country.
"This is a great opportunity for us," B&B's executive producer Bradley Bell told TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan. "B&B is really popular on the Dubai One network and that's opened up a lot of doors. We don't quite know what to expect but that's always the most fun part of this job -- going off and trying things we've never done before. It's very exciting."
Bell went on to credit Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) for the Middle Eastern trek. The actress was invited to take part in a triathlon in Abu Dhabi, and Bell got the idea to "back up the station wagon and all pile in."
Filming will take place March 17, 18, and 19, and involve Lang, Thorsten Kaye (Ridge Forrester), and Don Diamont (Bill Spencer). It will be a while before those scenes hit the airwaves. TV Guide reports that the episodes will not air until late May or early June.
