B&B stars turn into triathletes for charity

The Bold and the Beautiful doesn't just win Emmys -- they win triathlons. Several B&B stars competed in the 27th Annual Malibu Triathlon and helped the show capture the gold.

Members of The Bold and the Beautiful's cast and crew teamed together on September 8, 2013, to participate in the 27th Annual Nautica Malibu Triathlon, and their sweat and brawn earned them the competition's three top medals and $8,000 to benefit the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Along with some of B&B's producers and directors, cast members Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan), Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan), Kristolyn Lloyd (Dayzee Leigh), Karla Mosley (Maya Avant), Winsor Harmon (Thorne Forrester), and Aaron D. Spears (Justin Barber), and Heather Tom (Katie Logan), formed team The Bold and the Beautiful to compete in group and individual challenges in celebrity and non-celebrity triathlon divisions.

New mom and Emmy winner Heather Tom earned first place in the celebrity female division, and Katherine Kelly Lang took third place, just four minutes behind Tom. Gareis excelled in swimming, Harmon in cycling, and Spears in running. Team The Bold and the Beautiful captured the gold in the Celebrity Co-Ed Relay Division.

According to heraldonline.com, approximately 5,400 people, both celebrities and non-celebrities, competed in the triathlon, biking, swimming, and running to earn over a million dollars for the Pediatric Cancer Research Program at the children's hospital.
