B&B adds another dimension to its broadcast

Emmy winner Jacob Young's family is about to grow. Young and his wife are expecting another child later this year.

The Bold and the Beautiful has become the first daytime drama series to create the so-called "second-screen experience" for viewers. Thanks to a new app, fans can watch B&B live, on-demand, or on a DVR and have a fully-interactive experience with the show via iPhones and iPads.

While fans watch a broadcast of The Bold and the Beautiful, and sync the CBS Connect app which pinpoints which episode is being watched and tailors the experience accordingly. For instance, fans may be offered ridbits about which real-life designer's gowns appear in an episode or receive makeup tips from the show's stars."The release of The Bold and the Beautiful synched second screen app is exciting news for CBS Daytime and our audience," said Angelica McDaniel, Senior Vice President, CBS Daytime. "The app marks a first for any daytime television program on network TV and, most importantly, enhances our fans' TV-viewing experience, offering them a deeper connection with the characters and content of each episode."

The CBS Connect app, which is available from iTunes, isn't just for The Bold and the Beautiful. The second-screen features are also available for Criminal Minds, CSI, Hawaii Five-O, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
