Los Angeles Laker Girls to appear on B&B

What happens when you cross a top-rated soap opera and a professional sports team? You get the NB&BA. Okay, no, not really, but members of the Los Angeles Laker Girls will be appearing on The Bold and the Beautiful later this month as "The Spencerettes."

The world of daytime drama will collide with the often-soapy world of professional sports later this month when The Bold and the Beautiful welcomes members of the Los Angeles Laker Girls to the show. The appearance will marry a soap opera that's won back-to-back Daytime Emmys as Outstanding Drama Series and a professional basketball team that has become accustomed to winning back-to-back championships.

Laker Girls Angelique, Erin, Brittney, Brilane, Ashley, and Richelle appear Monday, December 20, as the Spencerettes during a press conference in which Bill Spencer introduces his son, Liam, to the business world for the first time.

The Laker Girls, originally a dance squad formed in 1978, are considered by many to be the premiere dance team of the NBA. The current squad consists of 22 dancers -- dancers that were chosen from over 500 candidates.

Lakers' announcer Michael Buffer, dubbed the "Voice of Champions," will also make an appearance during the same press conference. Buffer will appear on Friday, December 17, and Monday, December 20.

Buffer is world-renowned for his tuxedo image and famous trademarked phrase "LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!" ("LGRTR"). In his more than 25 years in the business, Buffer has announced some of the biggest championship boxing bouts and other sporting evenings.
