Scott Clifton joins the cast of B&B

Scott Clifton will join the cast of The Bold and the Beautiful this summer, ending speculation that the four-time Emmy nominee might be headed back to his old stomping grounds at General Hospital. Clifton most recently appeared on One Life to Life as Schuyler Joplin.

Four-time Daytime Emmy nominee Scott Clifton has found a new daytime gig. The former star of two ABC soaps has jumped networks and landed on CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful.

Clifton began his run in daytime on General Hospital in April 2003. He appeared as Dillon Quartermaine through July 2007, when the actor opted to exit the show. During his run with the show, Clifton racked up three consecutive Outstanding Younger Actor nominations at the Daytime Emmys.

In March, Clifton announced on his Twitter page that he'd been let go from One Life to Live, which ended the actor's yearlong run as Schuyler Joplin. His work didn't go unnoticed. Earlier this month, Clifton received an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actor field. It marked his first nomination in the category.

Upon his departure from One Life to Live, many fans speculated that Clifton might return to General Hospital. A GH spokesperson quickly dismissed the rumors, saying that there were "no immediate plans" to bring Clifton's former role back into the fold.

Clifton will be playing a newly created character named Liam Cooper. He taped his first scenes on May 25, and those scenes are slated to air on July 19.
