Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen, an animanga series, is known for its powerful characters, intense story, supernatural warfare, and psychological tension. One of the most intense arcs of this story is the Culling Games. It comes after the Shibuya Incident arc, hosted by Kenjaku after he successfully trapped Gojo in the Prison Realm. The Culling Games in Jujutsu Kaisen are a competition of survival where players need to face off against others and collect points to survive the game.

Kenjaku orchestrates this surviving type of game, as he wants to force a large number of people to participate. He believes that cursed energy is the key to humanity’s next stage of evolution. His ultimate plan is to merge the population of Japan with Master Tengen so he can create a supreme being. With this plan, he wishes to push the limits of what the Jujutsu sorcerers can achieve.

For his plan to be successful, Kenjaku needed a source of massive, cursed energy, and the Culling Game was the key element that served as the fuel for this plan. Essentially, for this game to work, he takes on the role of mastermind and dungeon master of this game.

The next step he took involved thousands of civilians of Japan. Many of them were initially ordinary civilians who had cursed energy. Kenjaku awakened their abilities by using Binding Vows.

Other than the main cast and people with newfound powers, many others joined, including seasoned sorcerers and reincarnated ancient players. The rules were strict in order to maintain the balance between order and chaos. Then he came up with ten colonies where players were given the choice to enter, while most of them were teleported with Master Tengen’s teleportation abilities.

These colonies served as a micro battlefield where different players fought with each other to earn points. Each player starts the game at 0 points. The only way to earn points is by killing other opponents. Points may vary depending on who is being killed and their power levels. Once a player collects 100 points, they are allowed to add one new rule to the game.

During an ongoing game in Jujutsu Kaisen, a player must collect a point within 19 days of entering, or they will be eliminated and instantly lose their lives. Kenjaku added this rule to force others to participate even if they were initially unwilling. He ensured that a constant loop of violence continued.

At the start of the game, it seemed like there was no known way to exit the Culling Game once a player had entered, either by choice or force. Later on, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuji, and Hana Kurusu add a rule that allows players to leave the game without resulting in instant death.

Ultimately, the Culling Games in Jujutsu Kaisen were never about winning or losing. Kenjaku just wanted to be successful with his ritual and reach its completion. Once he had collected sufficient cursed energy and enough deaths occurred within each colony, Kenjaku would go ahead with his plan of merging humanity with Tengen.

Winning the Culling Games in Jujutsu Kaisen, in the eyes of the protagonists, means stopping this ritual and preventing Kenjaku’s plan from succeeding. So, they came up with a strategic plan to override the rules to help others and prevent unnecessary bloodshed. Megumi and Itadori team up to earn points and find players who are both strong and willing to help add new rules. The strategic plan of manipulating the game to their advantage became just as important as winning fights. Some rules they changed in the Culling Games in Jujutsu Kaisen were:

1) Free entry and exit from colonies if they are replaced by someone else, to rescue players or escape when needed.

2) Points can now be transferred; others can donate their points to someone who has collected nothing to save their life.

3) Players will now have access to other players' information; this will help in tracking and getting information about unknown participants

In conclusion, the Culling Games in Jujutsu Kaisen are one of the most complex storylines as they introduce new characters, powers, and brutal fights. As the arc continues, everyone needs to give their best and is pushed to their limits, as there is no Gojo Sataro to defend our heroes. In the middle of this battle royale, Itadori Yuji and his friends also need to find a solution to free Gojo, as the safety of the Jujutsu world and all of humanity lies on them.
