Jujutsu Kaisen: Does Yuji have a Domain?

In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, Domain Expansion is a powerful cursed technique that allows its user to unleash a barrier by manifesting their innate domain. It is an advanced-level technique that can be wielded only by a few— and Itadori Yuji does indeed have a Domain.

Itadori Yuji was, for the longest time, a high school student. His life changed after he came into contact with a cursed object. After swallowing one of Sukuna’s fingers to save his friends, he became the vessel for Ryomen Sukuna—the most powerful curse in history.

After a long time of Yuji working on himself, he used this technique for the first time against Sukuna. This happened around Chapter 264 of the manga in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc.

It followed after Gojo was defeated, and Sukuna continued his plan while taking full control of Megumi’s body. His Domain Expansion has appeared in Jujutsu Kaisen manga but has yet to be animated, meaning it is manga-only content.

Atsuya Kusakabe trained Yuji to gain better control over his curse techniques and improve his physical combat. He trained hard to become a lethal sorcerer with purpose, discipline, and resolve. While his Domain is extremely strong and terrifyingly effective, Gege Akutami chooses to keep it unnamed and does not explain the details of this new power.

As the story was now reaching its conclusion, it was time for payback. For more of the plot in Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji has been defined by what’s inside him—Sukuna. It was now a turning point as he was done being used, and now he gets to decide for himself.

During the final fight, after Sukuna knocks out Angel and Toji, he decides to take on Yuji and finish the story once and for all. It was then that Yuji unleashed his powers. He was patient and showed Sukuna around his domain. All the places in it were part of his hometown and he went on narrating his past.

Surprisingly, Sukuna went along with it and followed him around. Finally, Yuji confronted him and gave him an option. If he left Fushiguro’s body and merged with him again, Yuji would spare his life.

Enraged, Sukuna takes Yuji on in close combat, and during their fight, Sukuna realizes that, for some unknown reasons, he is unable to overcome the effects of Yuji’s attack with the reversal cursed technique.

It was a long and relentless fight but Yuji finally managed to use his dismantle technique. By this, Fushiguro was freed from Sukuna, and all that was left of him was a blob. Even after this, Yuji gave him another chance to rectify his mistakes. His pride did not allow it, and he finally perished.
