Does Sakura die in Boruto? Status in the manga, explored

The Boruto manga series has been a delight to read, especially after the commencement of the Two Blue Vortex installation. Since this is a sequel to the original Naruto series, fans have been curious about certain characters and their status in the story. Many characters from the original series have made their way into the Boruto series. That being said, they haven’t really received much screen time.

That was the last time fans saw Sakura in the manga series. Therefore, it’s quite clear that she is well and alive in the manga series. Her death in the manga doesn’t really make sense. There was one theory in particular that was floating around on the internet. This theory connected Sakura’s death to Sarada Uchiha unlocking her Mangekyou Sharingan. They believed that a stronger foe would invade Konohagakure and kill Sakura. This would, in turn, help Sarada unlock the Mangekyou Sharingan all thanks to the Uchiha Curse.

This theory was later disproved when she unlocked her Mangekyou Sharingan when Boruto was being chased by the entire village. When she begged her father for help, that’s when she unlocked her Mangekyou Sharingan. Furthermore, the recent chapter also revealed her Mangekyou Sharingan ability, which was called the Ohirume. It was a space-time ninjutsu that allowed her to defeat Ryu.

Therefore, it’s very unlikely that Sakura Haruno will die in the manga series. Should the author decide to kill her in the series, it wouldn’t be very impactful. She is a beloved character, but killing her wouldn’t really prove to be beneficial from a writer’s perspective.

Sakura’s role in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

It’s quite clear that Sakura will not have an important role to play in the Two Blue Vortex manga series. She might not play a role in the overall plot progression. However, her medical ninjutsu could potentially play a vital role in saving someone. None of the current generation of shinobi/kunoichi has shown any inclination to medical ninjutsu. Therefore, Masashi Kishimoto might give Sakura the spotlight for a brief period. However, it’s clear that her actions will not be integral to the progression of the plot itself.

Characters like Himawari and Boruto will receive the lion’s share of screen time as time progresses. Furthermore, characters like Mitsuki have been sidelined for quite some time. Therefore, these individuals will also receive some screen time to showcase their true abilities.
