Demon Slayer has excelled in character writing and this is one of the reasons why fans love the show. The plot is simplistic in nature. However, the characters drive the narrative, thanks to their intricate and complex nature. Koyoharu Gotouge has excelled in this field, and it is hard to discuss characters without bringing up Nezuko. So, who is Nezuko Kamado in the Demon Slayer series?
Nezuko is Tanjiro’s younger sister and his only remaining family in the animanga series. She is considered a deuteragonist in the series. Furthermore, she has helped Tanjiro and plenty of other demon hunters in some of the most crucial situations. In fact, Nezuko Kamado had saved lives with her abilities, and she was a thorn in the demons’ side. There is absolutely no doubt that she was one of the most important characters in the overarching story.

Newer fans who haven’t watched the show would be interested to know that she is quite unique. Nezuko was turned into a demon during the earlier parts of the series. The entire Kamado family was killed when Tanjiro was away. However, Nezuko survived and she became a demon.
Usually, demons do not have the ability to control their bloodlust. There is no other option but to kill them. However, Nezuko displayed self-control and she didn’t attack Tanjiro. In fact, a Hashira was nearby and he was about to kill her. However, she protected Tanjiro from Giyu, showcasing compassion for human beings.
Later on in the anime, Nezuko joins Tanjiro on his missions and becomes an unofficial member of the Demon Slayer Corps. In fact, the organization was contemplating whether or not Nezuko deserved to be killed. Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the leader of the Demon Slayer Corps, showed compassion and saw something in her that other demons didn’t have. Therefore, she would help Tanjiro and other demon hunters when they’re pitted against vicious demons.

As stated earlier, Nezuko Kamado became a demon. Therefore, her physical abilities were enhanced drastically. She wasn’t the strongest demon around. However, she was powerful enough to land blows on low-level demons. Additionally, she has the ability to undergo a transformation that reduces her self-control.
However, this unleashed latent powers that improved her Blood Demon Art abilities as well as her power output. She was able to deal damage on an Upper Moon demon. Furthermore, her Blood Demon Art only deals damage to demons. She literally used this ability to set Tengen Uzui on fire. However, what it did was only burn the demonic poison circulating in his body.

Nezuko’s fate in Demon Slayer

Nezuko Kamado became the first-ever demon to conquer the sun. This was shown in the Swordsmith Village arc of the Demon Slayer series. Following that, we don’t see Nezuko until the concluding parts of the series. Thanks to Tamayo’s efforts, Nezuko reverts to her human form. However, Tanjiro nearly turned her back into a demon after his demonification. Luckily Nezuko developed a certain degree of immunity and Tanjiro’s attack didn’t undo all of her progress. Furthermore, Tanjiro also reverts to his human form. Kanao used the last vial of Shinobu’s medicine to cure him.
