As Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer is set to adapt its final Infinity Castle arc, fan anticipation for its release is through the roof. The manga is completed and has covered the battlefield of emotional showdowns, intense battles, and given a satisfying end to almost every major character.

Ufotable has proven themself time and again to produce high-quality animations and set standards for future anime releases. Fans have witnessed entertaining animation since the Mugen Train movie and the Entertainment District arc. Now that the Infinity Castle arc has approached, there's one fight that they must prioritize: Zenitsu Agatsuma’s final battle.

While the spotlight is usually on Tanjiro, Giyuu, or even fan-favorite Hashira like Sanemi and Obanai, Zenitsu has grown as a fighter, and this fight will be the testament and proof of his ultimate growth. Moreover, that is why I feel that Ufotable now has the responsibility not just to animate his fight, but to elevate it to the same cinematic level as the other hyped moments. And I know they are more than capable of doing so if they feel like it.

Also, let’s get one thing out of the way: the fight against Tanjiro and Giyuu versus Akaza is going to be the headline of the arc, as it has been built up since Mugen Train. No one can deny that it fans will receive the long-awaited closure they deserve after Akaza killed Rengoku. The hype is there, and this fight will likely be given a lot of attention. But Zenitsu’s fight isn’t “expected.” And that’s precisely why it’s so important.

I cannot emphasize enough the fact that it would be the first time Zenitsu would fight while maintaining his consciousness in Demon Slayer. This is a big deal because he was supposed to be the comic relief character and a crybaby; no one relied on or expected him to evolve. He was never cool like Inosuke, or emotionally compelling like Tanjiro.

Interestingly, his battle in Demon Slayer would prove that he was just insecure or lazy; his actions stemmed from deep-rooted trauma. This trauma was the reason why he spent his entire life underestimating himself. Slowly throughout this battle, we get glimpses of carefully written internal monologues and key battle moments that give his character meaning.

Furthermore, let us not forget that he invented a new form of the existing breathing technique, Thunderclap and Flash: Godspeed. Ufotable has already shown that they are more than adept at making their attacks visually stunning, and now they have a chance to introduce a new attack that is faster, cleaner, sharper, and more lethal. It's an opportunity served on a plate.

Final thoughts: This fight matters in Demon Slayer

Initially, Zenitsu in Demon Slayer might not have been a fan favorite, but his popularity shot up, thanks to his development and depth. Zenitsu stands for the people who doubt themselves but keep going anyway. He was finally able to rise above his fears and fight for everything he cared about.

His opponent was Kaigaku, the former student of Jigoro in Demon Slayer. So they both shared the same teachers, but it was Kaigaku’s betrayal of becoming a demon that led Jigoro to take his life. Zenitsu had to prove himself and bring justice to his mentor; that kind of motivation adds a profound emotional undercurrent. This isn't just about power levels. It’s about grief, duty, and love. If Ufotable manages to hold the gravity of the situation, there is a masterpiece waiting to be unveiled.

In conclusion, Zenitsu’s fight in Demon Slayer is a quiet revolution, it is the moment where the most underestimated character proves everyone wrong, including himself. Ufotable has a golden opportunity to surprise fans by giving Zenitsu his moment to shine. Manga readers already know how it felt to read through the fight, and by giving this attention, it can only elevate the feeling to those who know what is about to come. And only anime watchers can imagine how emotionally charged it could be.
