Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia (MHA) has been a popular animanga series that is packed with emotion, action, and intense backstories. As the story unfolded, fans were left cheering, crying, or sitting on the edge of their seats. This superhero story has taken one of the top spots in the modern shonen genre because the story is not just about actions; it makes the audience feel emotions that cannot simply be tapped with pure battles.

Here’s a ranked list of the 10 most hype moments in My Hero Academia that shook fans to the core.

The 10 most hype moments in My Hero Academia

10. Iida saves Deku from his “wrong” path

In My Hero Academia, Deku chose to isolate himself from his classmates to protect them from All for One. During this time, fans witnessed a darker and more exhausted version of him as he relentlessly took down villains nonstop. He had stopped worrying about his life and was overwhelmed by the sense of justice and the need to protect everyone.

That is when Tenya Iida intervenes to stop him. Not as his classmate but as his true friend and well-wisher. Iida reaches Deku emotionally in a way no fight ever could, reminding him that heroes don’t walk the path alone. It is one of the most heartfelt moments in the series as Deku breaks down and accepts seeking help and relying on others.

9. Todoroki vs. Dabi – Brother vs. Brother

Fans were waiting for his family confrontation to unleash, and it finally happened during the Final War arc. This fight was not simply about stopping Dabi from causing further harm but was about breaking the generational cycle of trauma and finding peace and redemption. Todoroki had finally found himself in a space where he no longer felt he was under his father's shadow.

Also, he was determined to save Dabi and stop his villainy. And with this fight, save what is left of his family. When Todoroki unleashes his own unique fusion of fire and ice in "Phosphor," it's a hype moment that signifies his full awakening and independence.

8. Endeavor vs. Hood – The Symbol’s first real test

With All Might retired publicly, Endeavor was the number 1 hero. But due to his complicated past, he was not at the stage to take on the responsibility. It was because till then, he was focused on just surpassing All Might and not focusing on becoming a hero for others. So, when a high-end Nomu named Hood shows up to destroy him in public view, it’s more than a battle—it’s a test of whether Endeavor deserves to be the No.1 hero.

This fight reminds him of the true resolve that comes with being a hero. He unleashes his Plus Ultra Prominence Burn and with that also realizes his mistakes. Also, despite being seriously injured, he kept on fighting until the enemy was defeated. This was one of the most cinematic and goosebump-inducing moments in My Hero Academia.

7. Deku, Shoto, and Iida vs. Stain – The birth of vigilante justice

The Stain arc is one of the most critically praised arcs in My Hero Academia, and for good reason. Hero Killer Stain’s philosophy left a lasting impact on the Hero Society that inspired others to become villains. But the real hype moment comes when Iida, Deku, and Shoto Todoroki, students of class 1-A of U.A High School, fought together to defeat him.

This is the first time that fans saw the protagonist in a high-stakes fight in a life-or-death situation. It also gave an idea about his potential while also showcasing how powerful students are from U.A High School.

6. Deku vs. Overhaul – One For All unleashed

Deku’s battle against Chisaki (Overhaul) takes place during the climax of the Shie Hassaikai Arc, where Midoriya finally unlocks One For All at 100%. Overhaul was a terrifying villain who had the power to dismantle and reconstruct anything because of his quirk called Overhaul.

But with the help of Eri, Deku managed to maintain his power consistently without destroying himself. This was the first time in My Hero Academia where we saw a glimpse of One for All’s true potential after Deku had inherited it from All Might.

5. All For One vs. Star and Stripe – America’s #1 Hero enters the story

Star and Stripe was the top hero from the United States who came to Japan specifically to take down All For One. Her Quirk was quite terrifying; known as New Order, she can set physical rules on reality using verbal commands. This battle was not only purely about strength but more about strategy. It felt like a real-life chess match being played. While she lost the fight and her life, Star and Stripe did something All for One had not anticipated.

She sacrificed herself but still managed to cripple All For One’s ability to steal Quirks. This caused him to delay his plans. This fight was also used to show that there are equally powerful heroes all over the world who also embody the meaning of heroism and fight for justice.

4. Dabi is Endeavor’s son – Toya Todoroki's reveal

The reveal of Dabi being Toya Todoroki broke the internet. Dabi, being Endeavor’s long-presumed-dead eldest son, was one of the biggest plot twists in My Hero Academia. The way he chose to reveal his identity was unpredictable. He broadcast it on air for everyone to witness, as he wanted to launch a personal attack on his father’s reputation.

With this act, he wanted to cause chaos among civilians and cause disturbance in Endeavor. Dabi’s reveal fractures the Todoroki family and shakes the public’s trust in the hero system. This is not just one of the hyped moments but also an emotionally charged one.

3. Shigaraki’s flashback – The birth of a villain

Tomura Shigaraki’s backstory is tragic, violent, and disturbing. His origin story of choosing this path was because, as a child, he was abused and had an unknown Quirk. Slowly, he descended into chaos and murdered his whole family by accident. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that All For One shaped him from the very beginning.

As the audience goes through the My Hero Academia story, it becomes clear why Shigaraki is the way he is. His story makes everyone feel sympathetic to him because he was just a pawn when compared to the grand scheme of things.

2. “You Too Can Become a Hero” – All Might’s promise to Deku

This might not be the flashiest moment, but it is for sure an emotionally intense moment in My Hero Academia. When Midoriya, a quirkless child, risked his life to save his friend Bakugo from the sludge villain, All Might noticed this act of bravery. After listening to his story, All Might tells him something that he always wanted to hear in his life - "You too can become a hero."

This is the point where Midoriya’s journey starts, and the story of My Hero Academia truly begins. All Might’s approval isn’t just about granting One For All, but it was a validation that Midoriya had been yearning to get for his whole life.

1. All Might retires – “Now it’s your turn.”

The most hyped, gut-wrenching, and unforgettable moment in My Hero Academia is the final battle between All Might and All For One. All Might was already weakened in the process of saving Bakugo. The One for All’s power had already been given to Midoriya, and he was functioning with the embers of it. He was almost run out of that, but with the last embers of the power he had, All Might channeled everything he had into one final punch: United States of Smash.

Now, he was no more than an ordinary Quirkless civilian. With no Symbol of Hope left, All Might points to the camera and says, "Now… it’s your turn." With that, his era is over, and the torch is passed to Midoriya. The world watches in silence, and so do the fans.

My Hero Academia has consistently delivered hype-worthy moments that have resonated with fans globally. The series has thrived because of its ability to blend superhero spectacle with deeply human storytelling. These 10 moments are not just ranked out of favoritism but because they embody the themes of what My Hero Academia wanted to portray: passion, legacy, pain, and the unyielding will to keep going.
